15 years since the Great East Japan Earthquake of March 11

It has been 15 years since the Great East Japan Earthquake.
We pray for the repose of the souls of all those who lost their lives in the earthquake disaster, and extend our heartfelt sympathies to all those affected by the disaster.

Since the 2011 earthquake, Urawa Reds have been working with Friends of the United Nations Asia-Pacific to continue with projects to support the Great East Japan Earthquake and other disasters, including fundraising activities for the Great East Japan Earthquake and other disasters, photo exhibitions of reconstruction support activities during home games, and soccer exchange programs, although only in a small way. Heart-full Soccer in Tohoku, which began in July 2011, has been held a total of 30 times over the past 15 years, and has interacted with a total of approximately 6,400 children.

Initially, this activity began as part of reconstruction support, but as we continued our activities, what we have come to value is not just providing soccer technical instruction, but fostering the "spirit" of people to face each other and support each other through soccer. As the number of events has increased, our activities have expanded beyond the scope of support into a place for continuous interaction with the local community.
We have now reached the milestone of 15 years, and our activities as "Heart-full Soccer in Tohoku" have come to an end, but we will continue to be involved while cherishing the progress we have made so far.

Over the course of 15 years, the club has made many encounters and learned many things, and the connections it has built with the local community have become a great asset to the club.
We would like to once again express our gratitude to all those involved and the local community who have supported our activities so far.

Through these steps, we have come to realize once again the importance of continuing to face disasters head-on, and the great support that connections between people provide.

In recent years, there have been a series of natural disasters across Japan. We believe it is important to never let the experience of the Great East Japan Earthquake fade away, and to pass on the memories and lessons learned to the future. We also believe it is important for us as Urawa Reds to continue our activities to support those affected by the disaster, while considering the type of support that is needed at each stage and exploring what we can do.

As a member of the local community and society, Urawa Reds will continue to provide support and interaction while cherishing our ties with those affected by the disaster. We also hope to use the power of football to contribute to the realization of a society where everyone can live in peace.

These efforts cannot be achieved through the club's efforts alone. We can only continue to do so with the warm support and generosity of everyone involved.

Having experienced the unprecedented disaster of the Great East Japan Earthquake, we must never forget the reality that we do not know when a natural disaster will strike. While we sincerely hope that a major disaster will not occur, if one does occur, the thoughts and actions of each and every one of you will be a great source of strength for us.
It is important to be aware of what you can do on a daily basis and think about how to prepare. And when the time comes, let's join hands, support each other, and get through it.

We appreciate your continued understanding and cooperation.
