Team Manager Mischa - press conference after the match against Vegalta Sendai

Comment from Team Manager Mischa after the Meiji Yasuda Life Insurance Company J. League 2nd Stage 8th Sec match against Vegalta Sendai

We had another very difficult match today. Vegalta Sendai is a very united team and a formidable opponent. Our players fought against them offensively and aggressively with a strong determination to win from the beginning of the match. Our team was able to control the match from the get go and managed to score the first goal. However, we lost a goal after our opponent players picked the second ball from a long ball which could have been avoided.

Most of the teams that play against us will come to the stadium with a special strategy and a different system of play. I feel it is vital for me to direct our players so that they can respond correctly with clear ideas to play against different teams and strategies. Our challenge from now is to eliminate avoidable goals like the one we had today.

As for our second goal, we scored it after we had a stunning breakthrough. We also created a few more scoring chances after several breakthroughs which we should have nailed. We will work more on our goal scoring skills to make the most of such opportunities we create during our training from now.

I trust our next opponent, Yokohama F. Marinos is another formidable team just like we had today. We will prepare ourselves well for the upcoming match by maintaining the good points of today’s match while reflecting deeply on what needs to be addressed.
