Ekanit: “It will also lead to the future for me”

On October 4, after the AFC Champions League 2023/24 group stage MD2 match against Hanoi FC, Ekanit Panya, who made his first official appearance since joining Urawa Reds, talked about his first goal, his impressions of playing at Saitama Stadium, and his future aspirations.

First of all, the club, the coaching staff, and the coach gave me a chance, and it was a great experience for me. I was really happy, thank you very much."

(What about the goal scene?)
(About the goal?) "I thought the ball might come to me in the flow of the game. I filled the gap when Ayumu (Ohata) hit it, and when the ball came to me, I swung my leg with all my heart. It was good that I got a result there.

(What was your impression of Saitama Stadium?)
(What was your impression of Saitama Stadium?) "Even in the rain, the fans and supporters came to the stadium and created a great atmosphere, which gave us a lot of strength. I would like to present today's three points and six goals to our fans and supporters. Thank you very much.

(What do you think about scoring goals on the Asian stage?)
This is my third time to play in the AFC Champions League, and I have scored in all three tournaments. This is my third goal.

(Do you play at the top position from training?)
(Have you been playing under the top since training?) "Not clearly under the top, but I have played both wings and under the top in the front positions. Today I was able to play in the top position, so that was good."

(When were you told you would be benched?)
(When were you told you would be benched?) "After practice yesterday. I found out at the same time as everyone else.

(What are you working on to adapt to the Japanese environment?)
(What are you doing to adjust to the Japanese environment? After practice, I go back to the dormitory and stay quiet. I think that as time goes by, I will get used to life in Japan. There are parts of the team flow that I don't understand, both in play and in practice, so I think my job now is to solve those parts one by one in daily practice."

(Was the transition from joining the team to your debut as you had expected?)
(Was it as you expected from the time you joined the team to your debut? (Was it as you expected from the time you joined the league to your debut?) "Maybe as I expected. In the Thai League and the J-League, the intensity is higher in the J-League, and I think it is my place to show how well Ekanit Panya will work in the J-League in terms of matching the intensity. First of all, I want to match them one by one."

(Maciej Skorza coach also said, "Ekanit is an interesting player and I would like to prepare him little by little so that he can play in the J-League." What do you think you need to improve in order to make it to the J-League?)
I think there is a lot of competition for the top and midfield positions at Reds. Right now, I still don't fully understand the team's tactics, so I would like to gradually adjust to that. I am also trying my best in daily practice to play in my own way as much as possible.

(Do you have any players you look up to for quick turns, etc.?)
(Do you have any players you look up to for quick turns, etc.? He is a senior player who also plays with the national team, and I study and learn from his detailed movements and turns.

(What advice did Chanatip give you?)
(What advice did Chanatip give you?) "I talk to Spachok more often than Chanatip. Spachoke told me, 'You may not get many chances, but if you work hard in your daily practice, and when you get a chance, I think you can leave something behind if you play your best.
