Linssen, Schalk, Moberg, Chinen, Yasui, and Ohata participate in the "General Incorporated Association Urawa Urawa Reds Supporters' Association 2022 Season Grand End Party"

On the 6th, the ``Urawa Urawa Reds Supporters Association 2022 Season Grand End Party'' was held at Urawa Komaba Stadium, with the participation of six players Bryan Linssen, Alex Schalk, David Moberg Karlsson, Tetsuya Chinen, Kaito Yasui, and Ayumu Ohata.

Due to the corona crisis, the event was held online for the past two years, and was held face-to-face for the first time in three years. A total of 498 people, including not only supporters but also the general public, participated in this year's Dainoukai.

The event was MCed by Natsumi Asai and Yoshiaki Iwasawa, who are also the personalities of the Reds home game broadcast "GO REDS GO!". In the first part, Linssen, Schalk, and Moberg held a talk event, and in the second part, Chinen, Yasui, and Ohata held a talk event.

Before the talk show, Taizo Tanaka, chairman of the supporters' association, and Yoichi Tachibana, president of the Reds, gave greetings. Chairman Tanaka expressed his joy at having the first face-to-face meeting in three years, and said, "Next year, Urawa Reds Supporters' Association will celebrate its 30th anniversary. We are planning events and projects to commemorate the 30th anniversary. Representative Tachibana said, "I'm very happy to be able to meet everyone face-to-face and hold the grand finale. Urawa Reds is a club that fights together with the supporters' association and everyone in the community. I would like to express my gratitude for three years here. Thank you for your support."

Both the first and second parts of the talk show proceeded in a friendly, smile-filled atmosphere. In the first part, when Mr. Asai said at the beginning, "Although (Matsushita) Igor's interpreter is here, please be proactive and speak Japanese," Moberg greeted in Japanese, Schalk said, "Good morning," and Linssen said, "How are you? and greeted in Japanese.

In the second part, Ohata greeted with "Itadakimasu" and Yasui with "Ohayo gozaimasu," and Chinen, who was told by Mr. Iwasawa that he could somehow predict what he would say, did as expected and greeted with "Chibariyo.

The theme of both the first and second parts was who were the "great" and "unusual" players among the teammates. In the first part, Moberg said "(Hiroki) Sakai," Schalk said "Yuichi Hirano," and Linssen answered "Tetsu (Tetsuya Chinen)." In the second part, Moberg said "Aki (Takahiro Akimoto)," and the two players nodded, Schalk said "very funny," and Linssen laughed and said "100 percent, Aki.

Meanwhile, in the second part, Yasui said of the players he thought were great: "The Ken Iwao players. They take care of our younger generation and talk to us during training. Zion Suzuki I think he is a great team leader as a human being," said Yasui. His age is one year younger than mine, but he also considers his own body and makes his own meals. He also prepares his own meals before games." Chinen said, "Shusaku Nishikawa player. When Zion player was playing in the ACL (AFC Champions League 2022), he took the initiative to clean up the sweat-soaked uniforms that everyone had taken off. It is amazing what players who usually play in games can do," he replied.

As for unusual players, all three players answered Yusuke Matsuo, with Chinen saying, "I can't have a conversation with them," Ohata saying, "Everything is unusual," and Yasui laughing and saying, "People around me may think they are unusual, but when I'm with them, I think, 'What are you talking about? Yasui explained the reason with a laugh. Coincidentally, three foreign and three Japanese players each mentioned the same player.

A lottery was held after the talk show in each of the first and second parts, and the match ball with the autograph of each of the three players was presented to the person who held the paper with the number drawn by each player.

At the end, each player thanked them for their support this year and conveyed their enthusiasm for next year, and the big applause and smiles came to an end.

(I don't think I've ever had the opportunity to participate in an event like today, but how was the grand finale held in a friendly atmosphere?)
"I haven't had many opportunities to interact with fans and supporters due to the new coronavirus infection, so it was fun answering questions in front of everyone for the first time."

(What kind of season was it looking back at 2022?)
“For myself, it was my first time playing in the J1 League, and I was able to gain a lot of experience.

(What are your goals for next year?)
“There will be the ACL final next year, so my first goal is to win the ACL and also participate in the (FIFA) Club World Cup. I want to win every title I can win. I want to go."

(Was the talk show nervous?)
"No, it was a lot of fun. Fans and supporters reacted, so it was fun."

(At the talk show, you said, "The Reds are the symbol of Urawa," but I misheard it as "Oshibori." What is Chinen's enthusiasm for becoming the symbol of the Reds?)
“It has been a year since I joined Urawa Reds, and I thought it was a club with a long history and tradition. If I could become a symbol of that team, I would feel a sense of honor and accomplishment as a football player even after retiring from playing football. I want to do my best.”
