Greetings from Mr. Makoto Taguchi, President and Representative Director

My name is Makoto Taguchi, and I have recently assumed the post of President and CEO of Urawa Red Diamonds Co., Ltd.
Until I retired from playing for the Mitsubishi Heavy Industries soccer team, the predecessor of Urawa Reds, at the age of 29, I was fascinated by soccer and spent every day literally immersed in soccer. Also, when I joined Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, I was fortunate enough to work in the same department as the late Takashi Mori, who later served as the first manager and general manager of Urawa Reds Urawa Reds was. After retiring as a player, I devoted myself to the company business for about 30 years, but I feel a strong connection to soccer again and to being involved in Urawa Reds, a club that is special to me. I am deeply humbled by the heavy responsibility of representing Urawa Reds.

I feel that there is no club that is as strongly supported by fans, supporters, partner companies, and everyone in the hometown as Urawa Reds. When the thoughts of all the people who love Urawa Reds come together, our home stadium will become a special space that is unparalleled and will demonstrate tremendous power. Not only that, but it also has a big and positive impact on the management side.

In the 2022 season, thanks to all the fans and supporters, the number of visitors to the J1 League home games was the highest for the year for the first time since the outbreak of the corona disaster. It was about 70%. We understand that this number is not only due to the corona disaster, but is the result of multiple factors, including the team's record.
I believe that the act of visiting the stadium is an extremely important barometer that expresses the confidence in the team and club by all people involved in Urawa Reds, such as fans, supporters, partner companies, and everyone in the hometown. I am thinking about it, but I will do my best to manage the club by honestly pursuing not only the numbers but also the background behind it, that is, that all of our stakeholders will sincerely sympathize with the philosophy and activities of Urawa Reds. I have the will.

In terms of specific points of focus, we believe that there are three important pillars in aiming for club management that resonates with everyone involved with Urawa Reds.

The first pillar is a strong and attractive team.
Regardless of category, every team aims to win every game and win the title in every competition.
In particular, Urawa Reds, the most iconic men's team in the club, has a team goal of ``always competing for the championship'' and ``always gaining the right to participate in the ACL''.
We understand that this is the most important point in terms of providing joy to everyone. In addition, from the 2023 season, based on the “J. it will be of great significance.
From these two perspectives, achieving the team's goals is a top priority, and in order to seek results, we have invited Maciej Skorza as a manager who can further embody the team concept. The theme of this season will be to play higher, play more aggressive football, and switch quickly from the front line to score goals quickly.

The second pillar is stable club management over the medium to long term.
Having stable management power as a business company can lead to the next positive investment. From strengthening the team, investing in academies and women's teams, improving the viewing environment and experience for fans and supporters, working with Redsland to realize the Saitama City Sports Shure concept, We have a wide range of investment targets, including social contribution activities. In order to realize these goals, and to move toward the goal of becoming something more than a soccer club for Saitama, we have formulated a medium-term management plan that presents action plans and policies for reform over the next four years. It has been formulated. In accordance with that plan, we will pursue strength and develop activities that emphasize ties, and strongly propose and provide sports “watch,” “do,” and “support.”

And the third pillar is the club staff.
Considering people as the source of value, we will further create an environment where club staff can grow. Of course, we will also aim to improve the efficiency and sophistication of our operations through the improvement of the IT environment, but it is people who handle it. As we have done in the past, we will place importance on communication between people who create culture, such as respecting and considering others, and we will place importance on enriching the hearts of club staff. And there are jobs that can only be done by club staff with a rich heart, and I believe that such jobs are the ones that touch the hearts of everyone involved with Urawa Reds.

While nurturing these three pillars for a long time, we will respond appropriately and timely to various social changes, not limited to the corona crisis, aiming to improve the value not only of clubs but also of partner companies, hometowns, J.League, etc. With respect to the history of Saitama soccer, the J.League philosophy, and the belief that "continuation is power," we will continue to take on new challenges while paying respect to the history of the club, including the club philosophy.
I would like to fight together with everyone in a safe, comfortable and full house stadium, so I would like to ask for your continued enthusiastic support.

that's all

Greetings from Mr. Makoto Taguchi, President and Representative Director
