We played with a strong determination to devote the victory to our supporters-Team Manager Mischa

Comment from Team Manager Mischa after the J. League 2nd Sec against Kashiwa Reysol

When we played our first sec match against Sanfrecce Hiroshima, we were not able to play the type of soccer we wished to play. As a result, we lost the match. However, one positive thing about the match was that we played without giving up until the last moment. As for the match we played today against Kashiwa Reysol which won the J. League title last year, I knew that many of our supporters would come to the stadium as it was our first home match. For this reason, I thought it would be a very difficult match for us to play. Even though we lost our first match against Hiroshima, we were able to prepare ourselves in a calm manner right up until today. What counts the most is how well we respond after we lose a match. It is very important for us to behave and respond well after we lose a match.

As for the match we played today, we were able to control the opponent team’s two key Brazilian players and two mid fielders. I thought the team calmly developed the game and had several good attacks from behind. For this reason, the team managed to lead the match with the result of 1 to 0. But, we should have scored another point during the first half of the match. As for the second half of the match, I thought that the team would face a very tough match ahead. I believe that the team lacks some skills and it will be some time before we are at the stage where players can constantly play the type of soccer they aim to play. Our players still have to develop themselves well especially in terms of their conditions. The type of soccer we aim to play is to move well even when the ball is not in our possession and maintain good stamina to run around the pitch well. I regard such traits are of extreme importance to us. The team started to lag behind and was not able to play the type of soccer we are after during the second half of the match as their stamina started to run out. I believe this was the reason the team was not able to play well during the second half of the match today. For this reason, we were not able to play good soccer during the second half, nonetheless, our players had such a strong determination to devote a victory to our supporters who brought themselves to the stadium today. I thought that such a strong determination of our players brought the victory for us today. There are still many things we have to overcome. We still have to train ourselves well in many regards. The first home match we played was not an easy match for me either. It was the first time for me to oversee the team as a team manager in their home stadium in front of 40,000 supporters. Whenever I was here in the past, I was a team manager of a team playing an away match.

As for today’s match, I am very glad that I was able to survive though to the end of the match (lol). As I am getting old now, it was like a life threatening experience for me (lol). The team played so well today. I am extremely glad that we were able to devote a victory to our fans and supporters who went though tough times with us until now. We still have a lot to do and today’s victory is just a little step forward for us. There are still so many challenges to overcome. I know I spoke too much. But, the good atmosphere we had in the stadium carried me out of reality (lol). Arigatou.
