A good result will follow if we are not afraid

Vice Captain Yuki Abe speaks in preparation for the home match against FC Tokyo which will be held on Sunday, 14 March 2010.

A comment from Yuki Abe
I truly understand the importance of communication. Just by saying “move to the right a little” makes it possible to block our opponent team’s passes. I hope to see our team give more instructions to each other.
I think we started to communicate with each other more this year. So, the key will be how much we can transfer from our practice sessions into official matches. On top of that, we all have to be confident.
I believe that a good result will follow as long as we can enjoy our game and do not become nervous since so many supporters will be in the stadium to see us. I think our team is getting better. So, I would like to play confidently to achieve a good result.
We will play against a different team every time. So, we will play differently every time. It is one thing to respect our opponents, but it is another to be afraid of them. There is no need for us to be afraid of our opponents. I believe that our challenge is how we can put what we have learnt into real matches rather than to think about our opponents. We have to put all we have into a match. It sounds simple. But, I think this is very difficult to do so. However, I believe this is the most important thing for us.
