Koroki “It means a lot to me. I was able to prove that I have the ability to score four points.”

On the 17th, after the match against Shonan Bellmare in Round 4 of the Meiji Yasuda J1 League, Shinzo Koroki, who scored a goal in this game for the first time in J1 League history for 18 consecutive years, talked about his goals and records.

(What do you think about your own goals?)
``It's not that my goal was amazing, but that I was able to get a point from the flow like that, which was really good, even though I had a hard time getting out of the flow up until then.Today's result was a 4-4 draw, but For me, it's huge. It's not just because we tied the score, but it proved that we still have the ability to score four points. The team's challenge is to build on the build-up from last year and score more points. So, I'm very disappointed (not winning), but in that sense I think I'm a little relieved."

(For about 20 minutes in the first half, I thought we were doing very well in terms of what we wanted to do and the rhythm of building the attack.)
"That's right. For 20 minutes, we were completely in control, and there were some scenes where we could have scored any number of points. If I had to be greedy, I wish we could have dominated for a longer period of time than just 20 minutes. However, if you can't get two or three points there, it's common for the opponent to take advantage of one chance and turn the tide from there. It's difficult to score, but But if we don't get to grips with that, it's going to be a difficult game like this."

(What are the reasons for this interlocking relationship?)
``I was able to switch quickly after being captured, and I was able to take it back firmly, and I was able to take it back from a high position, which was probably the big thing.I was able to attack the opponent from the front instead of sliding down. I think it was very difficult for us to play. After we conceded a goal, including myself, we made a lot of simple mistakes, so the opponent had a lot of momentum, and to that extent, they used a lot of power in the first half. I thought it was going to be a very open game in the second half.I think being able to score three points in such an open environment was a huge plus for the team.”

(He set a new J1 record by scoring for 18 consecutive years)
``I think the reason I was able to achieve such records is because I am able to participate in matches constantly, and I have a body that doesn't easily get injured, so I would like to thank my parents for raising me with such a strong body.''

(Although it surpassed Mitsuo Ogasawara's record)
"I may have surpassed it in terms of records, but I will never be able to surpass it in terms of everyone's memories, so if I could come even a little closer, I would be very happy."

(In the goal scene, when the ball passed to Naoki Maeda, did he already find that space?)
``(Maeda) Naoki and I were always talking about crosses, and we were talking about what he thought about them during practice, so I was wondering what position he was going to use to cross, and when he did, I would be in there. It was decided by convention. I feel like the things we talk about all the time are part of the game."

(Scoring points in the second game as a starter and fourth game of the season is faster than last year, but about that)
``Right now, no matter who comes on, it doesn't make much of a difference.Everyone is in really good condition, and as a team we did really well in the second half, so it's a big plus for the team to have players who came on in the middle play active roles. So, that kind of competition within the team was necessary to energize the team, so I think today was a really good game."

(I feel like it was a long-awaited point for the attacking team to score, but will this give the team some momentum?)
``That's right. When I was told that it was difficult to score goals in the flow, I said that the players in front of me felt uncomfortable, so I wanted to score in the flow somehow, and in that sense, I was able to score goals like this. That was really nice.”

(What do you think about the fact that you can't catch up to Ogasawara, who you mentioned earlier?)
"It's everything. Speed is the only thing that can win."

(Last year, when we were lined up for the 17th consecutive year, we talked about how hungry we are to score goals, but has your attitude toward scoring goals as a forward remained the same over the years?)
``Personally, I'm not a player that's too greedy for points, so I feel like it would be great if I could score, so I've been lucky enough to be able to score if I had a chance to score like this. There are other strikers like Yoshito (Okubo) and Hisato (Sato), but I think I'm different from those types.''

(He scored a goal today, but in the recent game against Hokkaido Consadole Sapporo, he seemed to be moving really well, so I think his condition is really good.)
``However, I feel like I was able to keep it here, but I can't do it anymore.I have to think again while playing, and I think there is a different way to do it. , I used to dribble a lot, but as I get older I get less and less able to dribble, so in that sense I'm trying to master my post play, and as I get older I'm changing my playing style. But I think it's time for something to change."
