“I think it was a really great game. Two teams that wanted to win played aggressively and created chances for each other. But the reason why we made it to the final is because of the team spirit. I think it was because we were able to express our team play at a very high level.And again today, the fans and supporters created a great atmosphere and a situation where 12 players competed together.
In the match, we showed high intensity from the start and tried to maintain it for 90 minutes. Each and every player did their best and continued to press high. Our aim was to close in tightly and not allow our opponent to play freely. Of course, Yokohama F･Marinos has great players and is a great team, so they created some chances. However, Shusaku (Nishikawa) showed a great performance today as well.
Today was a match where I really wanted to show my respect to the players and felt a sense of respect. Even players who had minor medical issues, such as Jumpei Hayakawa, did their best today. Tomo (Tomoaki Okubo) also played for the first time in a while, but thanks to a miracle performed by the wonderful medical staff, they were able to play. We hope for a high performance in the finals.
