Koizumi: “I want to help the team in any way possible.”
On September 15, after the Meiji Yasuda Seimei J1 League No. 27 Kyoto Sanga F.C. match, Yoshio Koizumi talked about his thoughts on the game and his enthusiasm for the AFC Champions League 2023/24 group stage MD1 Wuhan Sanzhen match in hostile territory on September 20.
I think I was able to do that to a certain extent, but I want to improve my accuracy in the direct areas.
(You played on the flanks and switched to the top half of the team.)
(You have played on the flanks and switched sides, but is it easier to play on the flanks?
(In a game where you had many chances, could it be said that you could have won if you had scored even one goal?)
(Could it be said that you could have won the game if you had scored even one goal in a game where you had many chances? I think there were many aspects of the team's game plan that were in place, and I wish I had scored even one goal.
(Were you inspired by the goals of Atsuki Ito players in the Japan national team?)
I was stimulated, but I am only fighting for the title that is in front of me for the club and the team, so I am not conscious of it in that sense.
(Next up is the AFC Champions League 2023/24 group stage MD1 against Wuhan Sanzhen, which will be played away from home on the 20th. It will be a different competition from the previous one, as you will be playing completely away from home, but how are you feeling about it?)
I have seen players like Koroki (Shinzo), Hiroki (Hiroki) Sakai, and Shusaku (Shusaku) Nishikawa who have experience playing in the ACL (AFC Champions League) and overseas, and I feel that they have depth as players because they have such experience. I would like to experience many things myself and become like them.
(What do you think about the fact that you will be competing as the champion of the previous tournament?)
(What do you think about being the former champion? We will really be starting from scratch again. The strength of the whole team will be important as we will be playing a series of games, and I want to help the team in any way I can if I can play in the games. I will keep that in mind as I compete.
