Linssen: ``Two good goals for myself''

On the 10th, after the second match of the J League YBC Levain Cup Prime Stage Quarterfinals against Gamba Osaka, Bryan Linssen talked about his thoughts on scoring two goals and the time when he didn't get many opportunities to play.

(Did the first CK go according to training?)
"It's just like in practice. I was the target of the corner kick. A wonderful, perfect ball came from Ken Iwao. I think I was able to push it in with a good header."

(Did you hug Iwao after the goal?)
“He was the one who gave me the assist, so I celebrated the goal first as a thank you.”

(The second goal was also a great shot, wasn't it?)
“I had a good touch, so I was able to take it to the finish.”

(Maybe it was a reward for not being able to participate in matches?)
"Sometimes it's difficult. Sometimes it's difficult to come on as a substitute. When you come on as a substitute, the flow of the game is often intense. Today, I had a chance to start and play as long as possible. I received instructions to be on the pitch, so I knew I had plenty of time.''

(I think he could have hit the third goal himself if he wanted to, but did he give it to Alex Schalk?)
"Schalk was behind me. He yelled, 'I'm behind you!' and I think Schalk was in a freer situation than me. So I let it pass. The quality of his shot I think everyone knows that it's expensive."

(Does it seem like scoring two points in one game will bring back the sense of scoring?)
“These are two good goals for me. I think they are what a striker needs. I’m very happy.”

(Is this the first time you and Schalk have scored a goal together in the same game?)
"It's special. It was a special match for us, the Dutch team."

(How did you prepare when you didn't get many opportunities to play as a starter?)
“I've been working really hard these days. I was ready. I was preparing really well for today. So I'm really happy for this result. I worked really hard for this. "

(I heard that Iwao's ball was great for the first goal, but wasn't Linssen 's header shot also great?)
“In the Netherlands, I scored a lot of goals like this from corner corners, and I played corner corners as a weapon for the team.”

(Although he is not very tall, are he good at heading shots?)
"Yes, I'm not very tall, but I can get the timing right. That's what's important. I've scored quite a few goals with headers in my career, so it's not a surprise to me."
