Marius: "I'm looking forward to fighting a special 12th player with a strong presence"

After training on the 4th, Marius Hoibraten answered questions from the media online and talked about his enthusiasm for the second leg of the AFC Champions League 2022 Knockout Stage Final against Al-Hilal at Saitama Stadium on the 6th.

(How do you feel about the first leg of the ACL final and the challenges?)
“In the second half, I think we showed more quality than in the first half. I think we got into the game more than in the first half and played with discipline. We had more chances in the second half. We had a lot of quality players in our formation, so we have to be careful in the second game, and next Saturday, we will be able to play in front of the fantastic fans and supporters at Saitama Stadium. We have to play with more courage than when we played away.It was a good result for the first game away, so we just have to prepare well and play on Saturday.”

(This ACL was held until the semi-finals last year, so it might have been difficult to join Urawa Reds and play only the finals?)
“I had enough time to fully integrate into the team, so there weren’t many difficulties. (Maciej Skorza) Both the coach and the players are very supportive, and I think I was able to establish myself in a good position. ”

(Even in Europe, I think there was a fight with a total of 2 games, but what is important in the 2nd game, which is not leading by 3 or 4 points, and is in a slightly advantageous situation? It may be scary if you go on the defensive. It may be, and if you go too aggressive, the counter may be dangerous, but how do you think about such a balance?)
“We are only 50 percent of our work done, so we have to put the advantage on our backs and score goals to win, so we need a solid game plan. We also have to have a good attitude towards the game.We have to have a good balance when it comes to attacking, and when we have possession of the ball, we have to keep the game going. There is a kind of flow. So, to put it a little differently, you have to play with an adult mindset. You also need to play tough and smart.90 minutes is a long time. The flow can change. I think there will be a lot of them, so I would like to keep a close eye on them, and as a strong team, I would like to secure a victory while maintaining discipline.”

(After drawing the first leg, it is said that they will enter the second leg in an advantageous position, but they have 90 minutes of work left to hold back their strong attack, especially with Odion Ighalo and Moussa Marega. If you give them a goal, you may concede a goal in the next game, but what do you have to do as a team and as an individual, Marius, to prevent Al-Hilal's offense, including those two, from functioning?
“For us, rather than the tactic of trying to respond while concentrating on each individual, it is clear that we are fighting to stop it with our own unity and comprehensively. We all know, but it's also team spirit, discipline and hard work off the ball that has made us a solid and strong team since the start of the season, against two strikers. We know very well that it would be a difficult situation if we didn't cover and let them attack one-on-one, so we need to help each other, be sincere, stand strong on the pitch and prove our strength. I think we have to show on the pitch that we are here.If we give them a little bit of space, they have the weapon to score a goal in one chance, so we will do our best. I think it will be the key to the next game to face the game while helping each other while confirming the sense of distance between the two.”

(I think the center back duo of Alexander Scholz and Marius is the strongest in the J.League, and I think they have the potential to become the strongest in Asia. Have you ever built?)
“It is difficult to pinpoint exactly what we are doing here, but in a nutshell, is it correct to say that we both read the game in the same way and understand soccer? I think it's very useful for communication that we can understand each other in Danish and I'm in Norwegian. He's a great football player and a very nice guy, so I think we can understand each other. As I said earlier, it's hard to put into words, but I think we're similar in how we read the game and how we understand the flow of the game. I am happy to play with Scholz and I am still improving as a player because of him.

(There was talk about the fantastic fans and supporters at Saitama Stadium, but how did you feel about seeing off the fans and supporters when you headed to the airport after finishing the match against Kawasaki Frontale on April 23rd and cheering for the first round of the ACL final? And what kind of atmosphere do you expect the second game to be like at home?
“They are really great fans and supporters. After the match against Kawasaki, I took a video of them cheering before going to the airport. It was a really wonderful experience. I think they are special players with strong feelings. The support always gives me a great experience. It was the same in the first game away, but they kept our backs for the whole 90 minutes with tremendous power. I think they are very important fans and supporters.I think they will be the same next Saturday.I think they will give us great energy. As I say in every interview, I think they are I have never experienced such support in my career until now.Thank you for always giving me such a hot boost.I am looking forward to fighting with you all next Saturday. I am
