Sakai: “We are Urawa Reds, so we have to produce results.”
On the 25th, after the match against Yokohama F･Marinos in the 2nd round of the Meiji Yasuda J1 League, Hiroki Sakai talked about his gratitude for the support of the fans and supporters after the match, and his enthusiasm for the next round, the home opening match against Cerezo Osaka.
(How many times did you show running aiming behind the opponent?)
“The opponent’s line was high, so I was conscious of aiming for the back. We conceded a goal when we shouldn't have, but the support from the fans and supporters after the match was wonderful, and I think the players must never forget it. The season was not good at the beginning, but the players are determined to return the favor so that they can think that they are here now because of that.I was very moved by that cheering there.I will never forget The next match is against Cerezo Osaka at home, so I want to give away 3 points as soon as possible.There are many possible causes, and we are still in the development stage, but we are Urawa Reds. I know that we have to get results, so I want to present 3 points as soon as possible in the first round, and I want to enjoy the joy of winning together with the packed fans and supporters.”
(Isn't the defense made as a team?)
“I think they are organized. The opponents are F.C.Tokyo and (Yokohama F.) Marinos, and the games are tough, but I think they are organized and they are creating chances. But there is a big difference between getting one point or not, so I want to stick to it."
(I think you weren't able to get the ball forward in the first half because your offense wasn't well organized, but were you organized in the second half when the flow improved?)
“Everyone thinks about what they are trying to Maciej this year, and they are able to decide which position they should stand in during the game.
