Trial-match comments
Mihailo Petrovic
(Head Coach)
- "I think the opponents were sharper in the first half, and our team was always one or two steps behind them in our reactions. We also needed to be a little smoother and quicker in handing over the mark.
In the first half, we were particularly lacking in ideas. We didn't make passes that the opponents couldn't predict.
In the second half, we put pressure on the opponents from the front and I think we played well. The players fought with a strong determination to win this Trial, and I cannot criticize their attitude.
We conceded two goals today, but they were unfortunate. I think we played a fair Trial throughout Trial, especially in the second half. Unfortunately, we conceded a second goal from a set piece just before the end, but I think that's just how football is. It was a very painful loss, but we just have to continue working hard as a team. Kashiwagi Yosuke played through injury, but he wasn't in top form. We needed to show his true talent, but unfortunately he wasn't able to do so today.
But I think the only thing we can do is switch gears and move on to the next thing."
Opponent team comment
Yasuhiro Higuchi
(Head Coach)
- "It was a really difficult and tough game. Even though it was a set piece, the players managed to score two goals and win the match, and I would like to praise their concentration throughout the 90 minutes.
Also, it has been raining heavily since this morning, and it continued to rain during Trial, but at the end, the supporters waved their tricolor umbrellas, and I am really happy that we were able to deliver such a result.
As for the game itself, as I said earlier, it was a tough one. However, one of our challenges in today's game plan was how to cut down Urawa's offensive power and their two shadow players. Rather than adapting to their style, we created a 4-4 block and tried to figure out how to cut through it, and I think to a certain extent we were able to achieve this result by trying to do it our own way without adapting to theirs.
Although we have had consecutive wins, we still have more losses than wins. I was just telling the players in the locker room that we need to get back to even and prepare for the next Sapporo match with the mindset that we are finally starting. We need to win the next Trial and prepare again with the mindset that we are finally at the starting line."
