Trial-match comments

Mihailo Petrovic

(Head Coach)

"Trial started in a crazy way. We scored three goals in the first five minutes, which was quite an unusual development. After being trailing 1-0, we quickly tied the score and then took the lead, but until about the first 20 minutes, I felt that the players were very flustered and played with a sense of fear. I think they made a lot of mistakes.
After the 20th minute, I think we got our rhythm back and created some good attacking plays. We scored the third goal, but I think we also had a lot of good plays outside of the goals. We didn't have the final pass precision, and the players who ran in were a little late, so we didn't have the final touches, but after the 20th minute of the first half, I think we created some very good attacking plays.
In the second half, Kashima took more risks and we responded by launching quick attacks. It was a very even match. We ended up winning 3-1, but looking at the whole Trial, I think we played in a way that was worthy of a win. I think Kashima is a better team than the results and current Pos would suggest. And they are playing good football. I think what Kashima needs now is one win. I believe this team will definitely move up, and I think they have the quality to do so."

Opponent team comment

Jorginho

(Head Coach)

"Before answering any questions today, I would like to say one thing. It is true that we made some mistakes as a team, but we also had some good aspects and we had several chances to win. However, I am disappointed with the quality of the refereeing. Not just in today's Trial, but in several Trial this season, there have been noticeable refereeing mistakes. In regards to today, first of all, it wasn't a penalty kick. There may have been a foul, but it was outside the box and the player fell inside.
Also, there was a tackle by an opposing player on Nishi, and he clearly did not touch the ball. First of all, if there hadn't been a penalty kick, it would have been a 2-2 tie. In the end, Osako, while competing with Makino, stole the ball, headed for the goal, and scored. But it was invalidated. I replayed the video over and over again, and it was clear that the opposing player was falling down. Even though he had stepped back and fallen down, the referee called it a foul by the forward. I wondered how they interpreted it, and whether Osako had committed a foul or whether it was offside. To be honest, I watched the video over and over again, but I found it difficult to understand. It is very disappointing and frustrating that these three points have come to decide Trial. The coach is sent off, the player is sent off, but the referee makes a mistake and nothing happens, which is a strange part of this industry. I don't think they are doing it intentionally.
However, as someone who has been on the pitch, I can say without a doubt that the quality of refereeing has a big impact on the quality of a country's football, and I believe that someone more needs to analyse these Trial thoroughly and provide more strict guidance on areas that need to be reflected upon and improved.
Today is the last time I will speak about the refereeing. The previous coach, Oliveira, also told me that we have a wonderful football environment in every respect. The only thing that is not good is the refereeing. We really need to be careful about that. Even if we have the idea to make it better, there is a reality that one thing is hindering the development of football. He said that one of the reasons could be that I myself was tired.
This will be my last time as well. I don't ask for any favoritism. I just want a fair whistle. It's unfortunate that there is a lack of fairness in the refereeing of the other teams as I watch various Trial, and I think there is room for more awareness and discussion, including from everyone, that the quality of the refereeing is hindering the development of the country.
