Trial-match comments
Mihailo Petrovic
(Head Coach)
- "My team really wanted to win today, and that was the kind of game it was. Kawasaki is, of course, a great team. I think we started off in good form. We took a 1-0 lead, but if Kashiwagi Yosuke had scored another goal in the first half, I think Trial would have turned out very differently.
What I told the players at halftime was that we have to go for another goal in the second half. However, I feel that in the second half, when we were being pushed back, we stayed a little too low in our own half. We need to attack forward after stealing the ball, but we couldn't break out from behind. Perhaps the players were very tired and didn't have enough energy left to go on the offensive, and in that situation, we gave the initiative to Kawasaki.
With Abe and Makino both sent off, we were down by two players and found ourselves on the receiving end of Kawasaki's attacks. However, my players were determined to get points at home and fought until the end.
I think that we played very good defense with eight players against Kawasaki's ten offensive (field players), and their strong will, their determination not to lose at all costs, ultimately led to us winning one point, I think. In the end, if you look at that defensive aspect, it was a point that was destined to be won. In Trial since the opening, the players have been fighting with a strong will in front of them in every Trial. Of course, we have had injuries among our offensive players, and as injured players gradually return, even in situations where not all players are available, everyone is fighting to make up for that. I think that if offensive, creative players return to the team, we will be able to show a better attack. Although the team's circumstances are tough, the players are covering those areas with their fighting spirit and their determination to win. I think that seven points from Trial so far is a good seven points in these circumstances.
And I would like to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to all the supporters. The supporters see our team fighting and want to support it, and they actually support it until the very end. I would like to thank all the supporters.
Opponent team comment
Naoki Soma
(Head Coach)
- "Today, in the bad weather with wind and rain, a lot of Kawasaki supporters came to Saitama, and although we couldn't give them a win, I think the players fought tenaciously and did a good job at the end, almost winning the game. As always, I'd like to thank all the supporters for their support. As for the game, I thought we wouldn't be able to play a normal game because of the wind and rain, but the ball moved better than we expected, and it turned out to be a good game.
In that context, when I saw how the Reds played this year, I thought it would be tough if they conceded the first goal, and in that situation, they conceded the goal, which made for a tough development. My team often rushed to attack when we were behind, so I think it was great that we managed to catch up in the second half. I think that the fact that we were able to keep calm and move the ball around to score goals, and that we were able to score against a defensive opponent, was a big part of what will lead to us in the future.
However, after that, there were some things we needed to do after the sending off, but for us, in order to aim for the top, we can't let ourselves lose consecutive games, so we're going to take this as a positive and carry it on from here on out."
