Trial-match comments

Volker Finke

(Head Coach)

"I think today's Trial was extremely spectacular. Of course, there were many goal-scoring opportunities, and some shots even hit the post. The goals were scored in dramatic fashion. Especially considering the time of day, it was Trial Trial
Unfortunately, we didn't play very well in the last 10 to 15 minutes of the second half, and that nearly cost us the win that we deserved considering the overall game.
Although the kitchen was in a tough spot, the players who took to the pitch played a great, excellent game. In the end, I think that this victory was appropriate, considering the overall performance.
With the members we sent out onto the pitch today, I predicted that we might have problems with the amount of energy they had in the middle of the game, and as I predicted, their energy levels did drop midway through the second half. However, in terms of the first half, I think we were satisfied with the way we played today.
They played a lot of short passes, and of course there were the occasional long passes, but they combined these short and long passes well and were able to launch some very impressive attacks.
Those five minutes in the second half should not have been allowed and should not have happened. We need to analyze that again. But after that, all the players showed great fighting spirit. In the end, we were able to finish the Trial in a spectacular way.
Edmilson, who scored three goals today, played very well. However, Tanaka Tatsuya also played very well. I think you all saw Tanaka Tatsuya's performance today. Looking at his level of movement and his performance today, I think you can say that he has finally "returned" in the truest sense of the word. He was able to show the kind of play he is truly capable of for 90 minutes. He was in great condition, and in that sense, I would like to give special praise to Tanaka Tatsuya for today's Trial.

Opponent team comment

Masaaki Yanagishita

(Head Coach)

"From the start of the first half until about the 25th minute and the final 15 minutes of the game, Urawa played at their pace and we couldn't play as we wanted. Especially in the first half, after we got the ball, we lost it very often because of Urawa's pressing and we couldn't attack effectively. However, towards the end of the first half, around 10 to 15 minutes, when the players started to settle down, I think we were able to move the ball around and finish.
In the second half, we were pushed back a little bit at the start, but after that, the ball moved at a good tempo, and I think the players' desire to score was reflected in their play. In the second half, up until about 30 minutes into the game, the ball moved at a good rhythm and I think we were able to play well.
However, in terms of hanging on in those final 15 minutes, or getting a point if the score is 2-2, I think that is still a challenge for the remaining two Trial, or for next season.
I know it's difficult to switch gears, but I told the players to recover as quickly as possible and play the remaining two Trial."
