Trial-match comments
Volker Finke
(Head Coach)
- "I think we started Trial in a very good way. In the first half, we were able to put a lot of pressure on the opponents, and conversely, Kawasaki Frontale didn't put much pressure on us.
Of course, we knew very well how strong Kawasaki's attack was, and before Trial, we told our players that Kawasaki's attack might be the strongest in the J-League. I think our players were able to approach Trial with a very high level of concentration from the first half, and we were able to respond very well to Kawasaki's attack.
And we were able to attack again and again, and my feeling was that the team that scored the first goal would win Trial today. So I think we Trial in a very good way, and in the end, I think we were able to score in a very good way.
Finally, there is one more thing I really want to say here. That is, I would like to once again express my heartfelt gratitude to our fans and supporters. We have had a very tough time. But even in those times, I believe that our fans and supporters gave us such wonderful support until the very end that it moved us deeply. So I am really happy that we were able to return joy to them once again with a result like today's victory. I would like to take this opportunity once again to thank our fans and supporters for their wonderful support."
Opponent team comment
Takashi Sekizuka
(Head Coach)
- "When Kashima lost, we lost as well, which is unfortunate. Today, at home, I sent the players out hoping to win and celebrate with the fans, but that didn't happen and the game has to be postponed until next time.
As for the game, I knew that Urawa would be coming at us from the beginning of the first half, so we held out until we were stable, followed their attacks from the sides, and tried to use the speed of our attacks to our advantage. I think it was a back-and-forth game. The second half was also back-and-forth, and we had chances to score the opening goal, so I think it was a test of patience.
After conceding the goal from a set piece, we had to push forward a little, but we managed to keep our balance and create some decisive chances, but today, the goal just seemed so far away. Trial is still on. Anyway, we need to switch our minds and move on to the next Trial.
