Trial-match comments

Volker Finke

(Head Coach)

"In the end, we were able to win, and I don't think we need to apologize for that. However, I think the opposing team actually played better throughout the entire 60 minutes. We were able to come back in Trial in the last 30 minutes and turn the game around, but it's true that the opposing team was better than Urawa Reds in the first 60 minutes.
We were able to pull off this comeback with team spirit and determination. I think this is a very important experience for the team. But at the same time, I think today proved that the loss of a few specific players can have an impact on us.
Today is the 17th round, which means that exactly half of the total 34 Trial have been played. I think we have been able to achieve good results. Considering the situation when this team ended last year, I think this team has grown in a very good way, and this season we did not buy any completed players from outside. Therefore, I feel very happy that we were able to get 34 points after 17 Trial, and I think it is a good result. In order for us to continue this work in the future, it was important for us to achieve results in good condition, and the injured players will return soon, so I think that will be an even bigger step in the growth of our team.
I'm sure you all probably have questions (lol), so I'll answer them about the plateau.
As for him, he actually had the first assist that led to Edmilson's goal, and I thought that was a really great play. For me, a forward who can assist is just as important as a forward who can score.
And speaking of the offensive line, I would like to briefly mention Genki Haraguchi. I think his play is gradually improving. There was a time when he was stuck in a "hole" and there were high expectations from the outside. However, recently, his play has been gradually improving again. I think that is something that gives me great joy.

Opponent team comment

Petrovic

(Head Coach)

"After a defeat like today, it's difficult to make any comments. My impression after watching Trial is that Sanfrecce was superior in terms of the content of Trial.
This is not limited to today, we have lost three Trial, but whether it was against Kyoto, Iwata, or today's game, we lost games where we were superior in terms of the content of Trial. We should have decided Trial in the first half. If we had scored a second or third goal after scoring one, or if the referee had awarded a penalty when one of our players fell in the penalty area, I think we could have scored four goals in the first half.
I guess Sanfrecce is still a small club. However, I want to praise the players for fighting well, even though we lost. They fought well until the very end without giving up. We have now lost three games in a row, but I myself will keep fighting and not give up.
The fact that we were able to create seven or eight decisive chances in one Trial through combination plays means that we played a good game, and I think it's proof that we are a good team. It's a painful defeat to lose despite playing a good game like this, but the league will continue, so we will continue to fight."
