Trial-match comments

Volker Finke

(Head Coach)

"We knew beforehand that our Trial here today would be difficult. In fact, I watched the previous Trial against Kawasaki Frontale (of Montedio Yamagata), and Frontale was able to score a goal just before the end of Trial, which I think was a very fortunate victory for them. So, we knew that Trial here would be very tough. So, to be honest, there were times in the first half when we had a hard time controlling the game, but we still managed to get the three points in a solid manner, so I'm very happy about that.
Although we were not able to achieve results in the first half, I think the players showed the right reaction afterwards. In fact, we made some tactical changes in the second half, and these various changes, including positions, and introducing new players, had a very positive impact on the team as a whole.
Of course, Robson Ponte, a player who hadn't played in Trial for about two months, worked in that way, and I think he proved that he is a very valuable player to the team just by playing in the second half. However, there are many other players still out, such as Tatsuya Tanaka, and we also have Tsuboi in defense. So, I think we are in a very tough financial situation right now. Of course, if they return, the financial situation may be a little easier, but since we are in such a tough situation right now, we are thinking about everything we can, using each player in various positions, and trying to get through this period.
And this is my last comment, but I think that the audience is starting to realize that Takahara and Edmilson can play together, that they can be on the pitch at the same time and play as one team. When I came here, many people said, "These two players don't get along well, they shouldn't be on the pitch at the same time." However, now that the two of them are playing so well, I think that even those who held that opinion have changed their minds. And I think that the audience was able to see that the two of them can actually play very well in the way they did today.
And, this is just my personal impression, but when I came to this stadium in Yamagata, I really felt a sense of sympathy for this club. The atmosphere in this stadium, the overall organization, and the team's hard work make me feel like this is a team I really sympathize with. So, I sincerely hope that this team will achieve as good results as possible and remain in the first division (J1). And I sincerely hope that Akahoshi, who has transferred from our team, will do an excellent job in helping your team achieve its goals."

Opponent team comment

Shinji Kobayashi

(Head Coach)

"The first half was tough, but we managed to hold on. However, we didn't slide enough on the ball side, so the back line was left vacant, and the back line was waiting. It would have been better if we could have made good passes and approached, but we were a bit blurry, and our two-top became a three-top and we didn't work well.
We were loose in going for the ball, in approaching firmly when the ball reached the back line, and in taking our time, so it was a tough start for the two defensive midfielders. We managed to hold on and defend well. We were able to score in that situation today, so compared to the previous two Trial and the two Trial since the restart, we did well in being able to hold on and score.
Also, we conceded goals right before the end of Trial, and after we scored, so we need to concentrate more. As for the goals we scored after the score was 2-2, and the goals we conceded, I think we just couldn't hold on for five minutes, but as a team, we didn't use those moments well. It was disappointing that we couldn't concentrate more and move forward after scoring. But the players fought tough."
