Trial-match comments

Volker Finke

(Head Coach)

"First of all, I would like to congratulate our opponents today. I think their victory today was well-deserved. In football, to win in the league, it's simply not enough to play well for just 30 minutes. I think we played well for the first 30 minutes, but for some reason after that we couldn't pass the ball around as we normally would, and unfortunately, we weren't able to show the combinations we had hoped to."
I can't go into detail about why things turned out the way they did after the 30-minute mark, and to be honest, considering how our games have been going in the last few Trial, what happened today was a huge surprise. We will be thoroughly analyzing why we made that play 30 minutes into the game.
Given that Trial just ended, it would be very difficult to provide a detailed analysis, explain the specific reasons why things didn't go well today, and discuss those things in detail right now. We need a little more time to do that.
However, I think we've been able to play solidly for the full 90 minutes over the past few weeks, so we need to seriously consider why this happened after the 30-minute mark today."

Opponent team comment

Hiroyoshi Kimura

(Head Coach)

"The J.League itself was on hiatus for about a month, but because of the Nabisco Cup, it didn't feel like that long of a break. Before yesterday's game, we were languishing in 13th place, so we have two more matches against Urawa and Gamba in June, and we've been training for the past two weeks with renewed determination to win those and climb up the standings."
As I mentioned earlier, we've been able to create some pretty good opportunities in the Nabisco Cup, and our defense has become more tenacious, so I thought we could have a good game today, regardless of whether we win or lose."
