Trial-match comments
Volker Finke
(Head Coach)
- "Maybe it was Trial that wasn't considered very important, but I think it was a good experience for us in a positive way today.
There were some big changes in some positions due to various players being unable to Trial today, but I still think it came out as a good result for us.
And I think it was a joy for the spectators who came to the stadium today. That's how I feel. Because I think we played a good Trial against a team that is ranked high in the J-League, and the opposing team had to make only one substitution in their starting lineup compared to their usual starting lineup over the past few weeks. We had players who didn't have much experience yet, but the fact that they were able to bring about the result we saw today means a lot.
And, this is just my personal opinion, but I think that today's Trial really showed that a lot of things have happened in this team in the past three months. Of course, the young players showed excellent performances, but I would like to especially highlight Yamada Norihisa's play here. I think he played very well in that position today, and he was especially tactically smart.
The whole team played very organised football and showed great improvement.
We are trying to play a completely different style of football than we did last year, and we have made various efforts to play the best football we can since last year. And the result we got today is proof that we are moving in the right direction, and I have a very positive impression of our future growth.
And lastly, I'm not just happy because the result of one Trial today was good. I'm not talking about the short term, like the past week, but about the long-term growth of the team, and I was able to see a lot of good things today, so I'm very happy about that.
Opponent team comment
Jun Suzuki
(Head Coach)
- “We really wanted to win today, but it's a shame that we couldn't achieve that goal. From the start of the first half, we wanted to put pressure on our opponent and take it as far in front as possible, and that's how we started the game. I think we played fairly well, but we were unable to score from there, and instead we made mistakes and ended up conceding goals.
The game progressed midway through the first half with the team trailing 0-1, but they were unable to break down Urawa's defense and were unable to get the ball in behind them, making it a very stressful game. I think it was. Gradually into the second half, we continued to apply pressure and kept pushing forward, but to no avail. I feel very sorry.”
