Trial-match comments
Volker Finke
(Head Coach)
- "Sometimes, even if Trial finishes 0-0, it can still be a fascinating Trial, and I think that was Trial today.
I may not be allowed to say this as a manager, but I am very satisfied with the performance of the players today, even though we drew. I think the players played very well today until all the players left the pitch. Of course, we have to consider the level of the opposing team. I think we played against a very high-level, good team.
I think today's Trial was very good in terms of the team's growth. First of all, the defense showed excellent concentration again from Trial against Frontale, and their positioning has improved. And the four backs showed very good coordination.
As for the offensive line, today we had a lineup of 18-year-olds, 20-year-olds, and 18-year-olds. Edmilson, who could be called a grandfather, was only 26 years old, so the Trial age of the offensive line was very young. And we had some very promising offensive players, such as Tatsuya Tanaka, Tsukasa Umesaki, and Robson Ponte, out due to injury. However, even without these players, we were able to perform like we did today, which I think was a very good signal for the growth of our team.
And normally I don't talk about this in public, but I think the referee performed very well today. I think the opposing team's coach also avoided sending No. 19 off by substituting him after he received the yellow card. No. 19 had already received a yellow card, and was about to receive a second card and be sent off. In that sense, I think the opposing team's coach also showed very good judgment today.
I want to state again here that the referee and assistant referees all performed very well today and blew the whistle in a proper way. The opposing manager was also very clever, as he substituted the No. 19 player so that he wouldn't be sent off.
I personally felt great joy in today's Trial because the football played was of such a high standard.
My impression of today's Trial was that whichever team scored first would be able to take the three points. Although the match ended in a draw, we actually created more chances than the opposing team, so in that sense I think we were closer to winning.
My final comment is that it is very unfortunate that Naoki Yamada received his fourth yellow card. This means that he will not be able to play in the next match against Omiya. Naoki Yamada has already become an important member of our team, so it is very unfortunate that he will not be able to play in the next Trial in this way.
Opponent team comment
Akira Nishino
(Head Coach)
- "It was a very tough game, and I feel like we had to defend for two Trial. We were unable to get into the positions that are typical of our style during the 90 minutes.
The Reds pressed very hard, not letting us break through their final line, and although Leandro was in a situation like that, there were many situations where we were forced into defense, and I think everyone worked hard.
However, the fact that we were able to hold out against the Reds defensively, even though everyone's line was a little low, is something we should also look at as a positive.
It was a very tough game. I think it was something we've never played before. However, I don't think it was the worst game we played, and we just want to carry it forward."
