CLUB EMBLEM The Reds Emblem
The core motifs are the ball and the whorl. They represent a call for everyone to come together around the ball, the excitement and joy that the ball brings to all, and gathering circles of goodwill and friendship that reach out to the whole world.
The building at the top is the elite teacher training college where football was introduced to Saitama in 1908. The college is long gone but the building has been rebuilt in its original form and is now a municipal museum.
The diamond in the centre is, of course, the Red Diamond symbol. It stands for the tightly bonded team.
The sakuraso primrose, at bottom left and right, is the emblematic flower of both Saitama Prefecture and Saitama City. It is a designated natural treasure of Japan, and Saitama is one of the very best places for seeing this beautiful flower.

Mitsunori FUJIGUCHIGreetings

Welcome everyone to Urawa Reds!
Last season, we won both our first J. League championship and the Emperor's Cup. We had a wonderful year.
Our most important goal this season is to make it two J. League championships in a row. In addition, we have the target of winning through the ACL to qualify for the FIFA Club World Cup. We shall strive to win every title but must not lose sight of our feet. It is extremely important now to win consecutive J. League championships and demonstrate at home and abroad how firm Reds have become. To do this while also battling in the ACL is our new challenge for this season.
This year's big change is the arrival of Holger Osieck to take over from Guido Buchwald as manager. A key point is that Gert Engels and the other coaches remain. The aim is not to change everything but to build still higher on what we have achieved so far. Mr. Osieck is himself imbued with the Reds spirit as a former manager of the club for two years from 1995. I believe that the new framework will slot smoothly into place in the short time available before new season kicks off.
62,241 supporters packed Saitama Stadium on December 2nd last year, the day that we clinched the J. League championship in a direct showdown with second-placed Gamba Osaka. That was a new record for both the stadium and a J. League match. We would love to have two or three more matches like that again this year, not for the revenue but so that as many people as possible can see Reds and share in the excitement and happiness of sport. That is our work. It can only be achieved by fielding a good team, playing attractive football and providing an appealing environment in and around the stadium before, during and after every game. We are working with might and main to do exactly that.
Please watch out for great things from Reds this season, too!
The President
Mitsunori Fujiguchi
Mitsunori Fujiguchi played 9 seasons as a forward and midfielder for Mitsubishi in the Japan Soccer League from 1974-82, scoring 27 goals in 127 appearances, and was a member of the team that won the triple crown of league, League Cup and Emperor's Cup in 1978.
He scored twice in 26 "A" matches for Japan.
A founding executive of Red Diamonds when the club turned professional and moved to Urawa in 1992, he performed a key role in establishing the club's roots in its new community.
He crossed over to the J. League from 1997, serving there first as a Deputy General Secretary and then Director.
He afterwards became a Director of the Japan Football Association before returning to Reds in 2005, where was appointed President in June, 2006.
