Management information

The men's top team set a clear goal of winning the J1 League for the first time in 18 seasons since the 2006 season, and in order to achieve this goal, they strengthened their players and team staff before the start of the season. However, they were unable to join the championship race throughout the season, and at one point they were forced into a tough battle, coming within points of the J2 relegation zone, and their final result in the Meiji Yasuda J1 League was 13th place. They also lost in the third round of the first round in the J.League YBC Levain Cup, and they replaced the training and organization manager and the manager during the season, leaving the men's top team with major issues to address.
In addition, due to a violation of the match management regulations that occurred in the Round of 16 (4th round) match against Nagoya Grampus in the Emperor's Cup, JFA 103rd All Japan Football Championship last year, the team was disqualified from the tournament and also failed to qualify for the AFC Champions League. As a result, the team's participation in the 2024 season will be limited to two tournaments: the Meiji Yasuda J1 League and the J.League YBC Levain Cup.

Although total operating revenue for fiscal year 2024 was down 173 million yen compared to the previous fiscal year, it exceeded 10,000 million yen for the second consecutive fiscal year (the first time in the history of J.League clubs). In addition, operating expenses, including business operating expenses and team operating expenses, were 9,003 million yen, operating profit was 329 million yen, ordinary profit was 379 million yen, and net profit was 311 million yen.
Regarding the breakdown of revenue from this business, although the number of home games was down by 8 compared to last year, the annual attendance at league games exceeded 700,000 for the first time in 15 seasons since the 2009 season, resulting in a decrease of 133 million yen in ticket revenue compared to the previous fiscal year. In addition, advertising revenue (partner sponsorship fees, RBC membership fees, etc.) decreased by 115 million yen compared to the previous fiscal year, merchandise revenue increased by 11 million yen compared to the previous fiscal year, and other revenue increased by 64 million yen compared to the previous fiscal year.

Ticket revenue: For the first time in 15 years since 2009, annual league attendance exceeds 700,000

Due to the change in the J.League YBC Levain Cup tournament format and early elimination, and the failure to qualify for the AFC Champions League, the number of home games in the 2024 season will be only 19 J1 League games. In addition, four home games in the summer were forced to change the kickoff time, be suspended, or canceled due to thunderstorms. Under such circumstances, and despite the team's poor performance, the average attendance for J1 League games was 37,519, and for games held at Saitama Stadium on weekends and holidays, the attendance was 40,922, exceeding 40,000 for the second consecutive year, with many fans and supporters attending.
As a result, ticket revenues were down 133 million yen year on year to 2,012 million yen due to the fact that the number of home games was eight fewer than the previous year. However, attendance for the entire season at league games was 712,852, exceeding 700,000 for the first time in 15 years since the 2009 season.

Changes in the average number of visitors

Advertising revenue: Although partner sponsorship revenue was not renewed for the third consecutive period, it remained above 4,000 million yen

Advertising revenue (partner sponsorship fees, RBC membership fees, etc.) was 4,108 million yen. Thanks to the support of many partner companies who renewed their contracts, partner companies who signed new contracts, and those who joined the RBC (Reds Business Club), we were able to maintain a revenue of over 4,000 million yen for three consecutive terms. On the other hand, although we continued to set new record highs for two consecutive terms, it was down 115 million yen compared to the previous term.

Merchandise revenue: A new record for merchandise sales for the second consecutive period

Sales of uniforms led the overall merchandise revenue. Many product plans were implemented, and with the support of favorable attendance at home games, stadium sales increased significantly, creating a virtuous cycle for overall sales.
As a result, sales will surpass the previous year's all-time high of 1,583 million yen, reaching 1,594 million yen in fiscal 2024, an increase of 11 million yen from the previous fiscal year, setting a new record high.

Trends in operating revenue and “three pillars of revenue”

Operating expenses: Operating expenses will be at the same level as last year in line with the scale of revenue from major profit-generating businesses.

As we were able to maintain the same level of revenue as last year, including the main revenue-generating businesses mentioned above, operating expenses, including business operating expenses and team operating expenses, came to 9,003 million yen, down 134 million yen from the previous fiscal year.

Ordinary income, net income, retained earnings and net assets

Ordinary income was 379 million yen, and net income was 311 million yen, with net income increasing 6 million yen from the previous fiscal year, slightly exceeding the results of the previous fiscal year. In addition, retained earnings were 1,535 million yen, and together with capital of 273 million yen and capital reserve of 113 million yen, net assets were 1,921 million yen, and net assets are steadily increasing in fiscal 2024.

About club initiatives

[Initiatives for 2024]

Supporter & Stakeholder Meeting

In order to "reconstruct communication with fans and supporters" as a measure to prevent a recurrence of the violation of the match management regulations that occurred in the Emperor's Cup JFA 103rd All Japan Football Championship Round of 16 (4th round) against Nagoya Grampus, we have started "Supporter and Stakeholder Meetings," and in 2024, a total of 18 meetings were held, with a total of 213 people participating.
We have received candid opinions from many people, including not only fans and supporters, but also the men's top team players, Urawa Reds Urawa Reds partners, and we use this information to objectively understand where the club is at in its efforts to realize a "safe, secure, and exciting, packed stadium."

Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Urawa Reds Ladies

The team won the WE League in the 2023-24 season, achieving their second consecutive victory. They are currently in the final stages of the season, aiming for their third consecutive league title. In addition, the final of the AFC Women's Club Championship, a pre-tournament for the AFC Women's Champions League (AWCL), will be held at Urawa Komaba Stadium in May 2024, and they have achieved dominance in Asia.
In October 2024, they participated in the group stage of the first official AWCL tournament, winning all three games and advancing to the quarterfinals. However, they lost in the quarterfinals held in Kumagaya in March 2025, and were unable to win the inaugural tournament.
In the Empress's Cup JFA 46th All-Japan Women's Football Championship, the team avenged their loss in a penalty shootout in the final of the previous tournament, winning their second title in three tournaments.

Urawa Reds Academy

Urawa Reds Academy Soccer School

The "Urawa Reds Soccer Academy", which was launched in 2019, has been renamed and restarted as the "Urawa Reds Academy Soccer School" from April 2024. With the aim of "producing top team and world-class players" and "developing rich people and human development through soccer", we provide training using various teaching methods that Urawa Reds has developed over the years, such as "Heartful Mind", centered on the teaching method of Urawa Reds Academy (Diamond Method).
In addition, we opened the Urawa Reds Academy Soccer School Vietnam - Hanoi Branch in Vietnam in September 2024. This is the club's first attempt to open a soccer school outside of Japan.

Red's Land

In fiscal year 2024, Reds Land had 1,070 members and a total of 78,687 users of the facility (excluding events, schools, and Urawa Reds activities). Instructors were sent to all elementary schools in Sakura Ward in Saitama City's "Challenge School" project 22 times in total, providing sports instruction to a total of 554 children. The community-based comprehensive sports club's activities include six types of sports classes, mainly volleyball and badminton classes, and the number of members in fiscal year 2024 was 145. The number of "Nurturing Partners," a collaborative project with Urawa Reds Supporters' Association, has increased by two from last year to 23 companies. There are also more opportunities to participate in and cooperate with activities at local neighborhood associations and shopping districts. Reds Land will continue to deepen its ties with the community.

Exchange programs with overseas affiliated clubs, etc.

Following on from last year, Eintracht Frankfurt and Urawa Red Diamonds held an exchange aimed at sharing the training methods and training philosophies of both clubs. In January 2025, the "Eintracht Frankfurt x Urawa Reds WINTER CAMP" will be held at Urawa Komaba Stadium. Currently, Eintracht Frankfurt U-21 team coach Makoto Hasebe will be in charge of the camp, and about 50 elementary school students recruited by both clubs will participate.
In addition, we jointly planned the third "Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Diamond Cup U-14" (Bangkok) with Muangthong United in August, and held a joint camp with the U-14 youth teams of both clubs. Furthermore, we engaged in multifaceted exchanges, such as having the tournament MVP player visit Japan and participate in training at Urawa Reds Academy. In addition, we worked to increase awareness and expand the fan base locally by holding fan events on the days when Muangthong United had home games, such as soccer clinics and talk shows for children, and public viewing of Urawa Reds games on large screens.
In addition, in October 2024, the club was invited to its general assembly by the president of the European Clubs Association as the Asian representative club for the FIFA Club World Cup, with Representative Taguchi attending as a special guest, demonstrating the club's international presence and building a network with clubs from around the world and exchanging information.

Cooperation agreement signed with the Saitama branch of the Japanese Red Cross Society

We signed a partnership agreement in July 2024. We have been working together on blood donation projects for some time, and we have gradually expanded the scope of our collaboration and cooperation to include blood donations at the stadium and acting as a donation acceptance window in the event of a large-scale disaster, which led to the signing of this agreement.

Kono Yubi TomaREDS!

In "Kono Yubi TomaREDS!", which began its activities in fiscal 2021, the club is leading the charge to solve local issues together with supporters and advocates. In addition to addressing issues such as "supporting children's cafeterias" and "reducing food waste," in fiscal 2024 the club began a new action program, "supporting people with disabilities," in collaboration with the Saitama City Disability Welfare Division.

SDGs In-house Promotion Project

To improve understanding and awareness of the SDGs within the company, we continuously hold training sessions inviting external experts (lectures on the mechanisms of climate change) and seminars aimed at deepening understanding of people with disabilities (promoting employees to take the Universal Manners Test Level 3).

Participation in "HEROs PLEDGE" partner organization

In October 2024, we will be participating as a partner organization in the "HEROs PLEDGE" project, which is a cross-sports project to reduce disposable plastic waste. "HEROs PLEDGE" is a cross-sports project that recruits project participants and works together to reduce disposable plastic waste in sports events. In the "HEROs PLEDGE Simultaneous Action Campaign 2024 Autumn," which was called for at a home game in November, Urawa Reds won the championship with a total of 3,337 pledges/declarations, the most of any participating sports organization.

Stadium management related

We have been discussing periodically within the framework of the "Working Group for Considering Tomorrow's Saitama Stadium," which is made up of Saitama Prefecture, the Saitama Prefecture Park and Greenery Association, Urawa Reds, and others, to consider what functions Saitama Stadium should have as the "stadium of the next generation." We then applied to be the next designated manager of Saitama Stadium, but unfortunately we came in second and were not selected as the designated manager.

lastly

We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the fans and supporters who came to the games regardless of the team's performance, as well as to our partner companies and everyone who has supported Urawa Reds. Thanks to your warm support, we have been able to continue managing the club stably in fiscal 2023.
In order to fully respond to the many expectations we have received from you, Urawa Reds will continue to work hard with you to create a "safe, secure, comfortable, exciting, packed stadium."
