"Culture of Peace! Culture of Football!"

In 2009, Urawa Reds Red Diamonds partnered with Friends of the United Nations Asia-Pacific (FOUNAP).

FOUNAP recognizes that the Urawa Reds' activities to contribute to the local community, such as the Urawa Reds Heart-full Club 's "activities to nurture children's minds" for the local community and the international community, as well as various initiatives for people with disabilities, contributes to world peace. Contribution activities that contribute to In addition, Urawa Reds Red Diamonds will continue to support FOUNAP's activities to raise awareness of the ideals of the United Nations. The alliance between the two companies is concluded with the aim of further enhancing social contribution activities.

What is FOUNAP

  • ・It is one of the related agencies of the United Nations.

  • ・We carry out various projects as a bridge between the United Nations and the private sector.

"HEROs AWARD"

In 2018, Urawa Reds Red Diamonds received the "HEROs AWARD 2018" in recognition of its "Urawa Reds Heart-full Club x Ban Rom Sai" project, which is part of the "Heart-full Soccer in ASIA" project.

The HEROs AWARD aims to find, honor, and support athletes and sports organizations that actively engage in activities that connect with and help society, both inside and outside the stadium. In 2018, in addition to Urawa Reds, 6 teams were awarded, including Mr. Norihiro Akahoshi, who donated wheelchairs, and Mr. Makoto Hasebe, who is an ambassador of the Japan Committee for UNICEF.

Heart-full Soccer in ASIA

In 2007, taking the opportunity of participating in the AFC Champions League (ACL), we entered the opposing country ahead of the match and started "Heart-full Soccer in ASIA", which is a "heart-to-heart exchange" through soccer with local children. Currently, we hold exchanges in Asian countries twice a year, regardless of whether they participate in the ACL. Over the past 10 years, I have visited 40 cities in 27 countries.
In 2008, when the Heart-full Club visited Chiang Mai, Thailand, we were introduced to Ban Rom Sai, a living facility run by a Japanese woman for orphans infected with HIV from mother to child. At that time, prejudice and discrimination against people infected with HIV/AIDS was strong, there was no exchange between the village and the facility, and they were even persecuted. By continuously teaching soccer to children, I created an opportunity to dispel the discrimination and prejudice against HIV/AIDS.

"Sports for Tomorrow Consortium"

In 2019, Urawa Reds Diamonds received a letter of appreciation from the Japan Sports Agency in recognition of its high evaluation for the activities of "Heart-full Soccer in ASIA".

As the host country of the Tokyo 2020 Olympic and Paralympic Games, Sports for Tomorrow is an international contribution and exchange project through sports promoted jointly by the Japanese government and the private sector. This is an initiative to spread the Paralympic movement.

“Person of Merit in Water Resources”

In 2019, Urawa Reds participated in the "Suigen Wakuwaku Seminar," an upstream and downstream flow project run by Saitama Prefecture, and contributed greatly to fostering mutual understanding among residents in upstream and downstream areas and raising awareness of Yamba Dam. received an award from

In the “Suigen Waku Waku Seminar,” elementary school students and their parents visit the water source, tour the Yanba Dam construction site, and participate in an exchange event with the local elementary school students, such as an introductory soccer class led by the Urawa Reds Heart-full Club. A project sponsored by Saitama Prefecture for the purpose of learning the importance of water and the difficulty of developing water resources, and deepening friendship and mutual understanding through exchanges with people in water source areas. Urawa Reds has been participating in this project since 1996, and at this year's two-day seminar, 60 children each day interacted with each other through soccer.
