On July 5th, at the "REDS START DAY 2026/27" held at Saitama Stadium, a press conference was held for players who will be joining or returning to the team this season.

First, Sports Director Satoshi Horinouchi and Technical Director Nozomi Ikenishi explained the aims of this season's reinforcements and the characteristics of the new players.

"Regarding this season's roster, Ikenishi and I took the lead in discussing and developing the team's policies and reinforcement strategies. In particular, I was responsible for the overall team policy and acted as the final decision-maker, while Ikenishi handled the practical aspects, such as selecting and evaluating candidate players based on that team policy. Ultimately, the two of us went through the transfer negotiations and the process of acquiring players."

Even with the new structure in place for this season, the team's foundational philosophy remains "thoroughness in the ordinary." Therefore, our focus in recruiting players has been on those who can grow themselves and help their teammates grow as well.

In terms of team composition, rather than gathering a large number of players, we have assembled a team with a slightly smaller number of players than in previous years, in order to maximize the abilities of each individual player. As mentioned in the press conference earlier, this is also with the establishment of a new U-21 team in mind.

Ultimately, I believe that building a strong team requires players who can grow individually, positively influence their teammates, and continuously improve together, and that's why I've proceeded with this team composition.

Ikenishi will explain the individual characteristics of each player to you later."

[Nozomi Ikenishi TD]

"Hello everyone. Let me reintroduce myself. I'm Ikenishi, Technical Director of Urawa Reds."

Horinouchi has just explained his approach to the overall team composition, and I would like to reiterate that we have assembled a great group of players. I would like to explain each player's individual strengths and the reasons and background behind their acquisition, although this may take a little time to explain, with our expectations and hopes in mind.

Regarding Kota Mizunuma, as Horinouchi has explained, we believe we have acquired the best possible player in terms of his ability to grow on his own and to inspire his teammates. When Horinouchi and I interviewed Mizunuma to acquire him, one memorable phrase he said, looking us straight in the eye, was, "I can still grow. I want to get even better at Urawa Reds." Those words truly resonated with us. We wanted him to showcase his strong desire to continue growing, and the personality he has always possessed—a personality that he has displayed no matter who he has spoken to or what team he has been on—at Urawa Reds, and that's why we invited him to join us. He has also played for numerous teams, winning many titles with them. He has been a league champion and cup champion with Cerezo Osaka, Yokohama F･Marinos, and most recently in the A League. We felt that Urawa Reds needed a player with such title-winning experience, and that's why we acquired him.

Regarding the acquisition of Harumi Minamino, he is only 22 years old and has been a professional for 5 years, including his registration as a youth player, or 4 years in actual professional experience. However, he has already played in over 100 Trial, including in J3 and J2. Most recently, he scored 7 goals in MEIJI YASUDA J1 100 YEAR VISION LEAGUE, proving that he is a player who can deliver results in the J1 League in both name and reality. As Urawa Reds, as mentioned in the U-21 team press conference and in the explanation just now, we have high expectations for Minamino, including his growth as a player, his stepping onto the pitch, and his potential to go overseas. During the interview for his acquisition, Horinouchi, myself, and manager Cho Kwi-jae also participated, and we conveyed our expectations to him. He responded to those expectations, and that's why we are here today. I am truly happy to be able to play and compete with such a wonderful player.

Regarding Kotaro Hayashi, he is actually a player I acquired from Meiji University when I was at Yokohama FC my club two years prior. I am truly happy that we will be able to play on the same team again. He has played in over 100 Trial over three and a half years, including the Centennial League. He played in over 30 Trial in his first year, and also in over 30 Trial in his second and third years. Furthermore, he competed in the ACL (AFC Champions League) with FC Machida Zelvia, and despite the extremely busy and demanding schedule, he basically remained on the bench and continued to play in many Trial. I have high expectations for him, not only in terms of his physical strength but also his mental strength, and that is why I reached out to him this time. Of course, his long throws are one of his strengths, but I believe that his personality, dedicated and serious attitude are what Urawa Reds needs right now, and that is why I reached out to him this time. I am personally happy that we will be able to fight together again.

Fukui Mitsuki has joined us from Cerezo Osaka. Of the four goalkeepers from last season, only Shusaku Nishikawa remains this season, with the remaining three being replaced. However, considering last season and past seasons, we felt that further improvement and replacement of the goalkeepers was necessary for the club. With a great player like Shusaku Nishikawa, we felt that we also needed a player who could rival him, and even surpass him, so we approached Fukui, who played 30 Trial in the J1 League last season, to join us. In reality, he didn't get many opportunities to play in the Centennial League, but even so, we gathered information from various sources, including his correct behavior within the team and his conduct that was worthy of the team winning, and that's why we made this offer to Fukui. We are very happy to be able to fight alongside Fukui.

Eito Arai has joined us from FC Machida Zelvia. Arai didn't get many opportunities to play in the 100-Year Vision League, but when we decided to change our goalkeepers, we thought about what kind of goalkeeper we wanted, and what kind of person we wanted. Similar to Fukui, we were looking for a goalkeeper who would bring positive energy to the team and, of course, always try to get Trial. That's when Arai's name came up on our list, and after gathering information from various people, we saw a video of Machida players in the locker room saying, "Because of him, the team is moving forward and doing well now." Seeing that kind of raw footage, we thought he was truly the player we needed right now, so we made an offer to him. As also mentioned in the press release, he is from Saitama Prefecture and we believe he is a player who started playing soccer and grew up with Urawa Reds. We thought it would be a great opportunity for us to play with such a player at Urawa Reds, so we reached out to him. We are very happy to be able to play alongside Arai.

Shuta Sasa has joined us from FC Imabari. This season marks the middle of his second year as a professional, but the first time I saw him was in the opening match of the J2 League in his rookie year, Trial Trial. He was in his first year out of high school, and it was still February, so he hadn't even graduated yet, but he had already joined the team. He probably only played for about 12 minutes, but seeing him play aggressively to try and get the team to win from a 0-1 deficit, I thought he was a fantastic player, and even though I was on a different team until last year, he was a player I kept following. In this 100-Year Vision League, he has played in many Trial at left back, a position he didn't originally play in, and before that he also played on the right side of a three-man defense, and last season he played as an attacking midfielder and defensive midfielder. Despite being only 19 years old, he has already played nearly 40 Trial in J2, so I reached out to him because I was hoping that he could join our team and further develop his potential alongside the players we have here and our existing players. We made an offer, and she responded quickly, saying, "I want to fight alongside us." Although she's still young, I have high hopes for her, especially considering her strong will. I'm happy to be able to fight alongside Sasa.

Yota Horiuchi was promoted from Urawa Reds academy and played for Urawa Reds, most recently for FC Ryukyu, and has now returned to us on loan. As you may know from the press releases, he is not currently in perfect condition to play football, and he is training separately today. He was promoted from the youth team, and has not yet made an impact or achieved results at Urawa Reds, and he is not in a condition to play right now, but when I asked people what they thought of him when I was at other teams, they said, "He is a player that everyone supports," and I have heard that everyone has high expectations for him because of his wonderful personality and undeniable potential. Including his time at FC Ryukyu and Tochigi SC, we have high expectations for him. He is not in perfect condition to play right now, but as a club, we want to fully support him so that he can return and run around on the pitch at Saitama Stadium. We are happy to be able to fight alongside Horiuchi.

Finally, I'd like to introduce Kota Kudo. In his first season with my previous team, Giravanz Kitakyushu, he came to us on loan from Urawa Reds, and he played the full 90 Trial in 36 out of 38 Trial. The following year, he was loaned to Fagiano Okayama, a J1 team, where he gained more playing time in J1 before returning to our team. He and I are both very happy to be able to play together on this team again. In fact, although he is still quite young, he has consistently had playing opportunities in J3 and J1, and has returned here with an impressive record. He is a product of Urawa Reds academy, so there are high expectations for him, and I believe he has returned here with strong determination. I hope you will all have high expectations for him and support him. I am truly happy to be able to play alongside Kudo."

Next, each player spoke about their strengths and determination upon joining or returning to the team.

[Kota Mizunuma]

"My name is Kota Mizunuma, and I have transferred from Newcastle Jets in Australia. First of all, I am truly happy to be able to join Urawa Urawa Reds. I strongly want to use my career, experience, and what I have learned to contribute to Urawa Reds' victories."

As you may know, my father (Takashi Mizunuma, former Japan national team player and soccer commentator) is from Urawa, and we have visited Urawa many times when we gather for family events such as visiting his grave. I am truly happy to be able to come to this place, which has such a strong connection to me, and to be associated with such a popular club.

My main goal is to put everything I have into making Urawa Reds stronger. I'm truly happy to be able to work together with everyone who joined this year, my current teammates, the staff, and everyone involved with Urawa Reds towards victory. Thank you for your support."

[Harumi Minamino]

"I'm Harumi Minamino, and I've joined from Gamba Osaka. I believe my strength as a player is scoring goals. I've been able to achieve results in the form of goals little by little since my time in J3 and J2. However, I still feel there are things I need to do, such as running for the team and creating opportunities through my play. I joined Urawa Reds because I wanted to do these things in a different environment at this club."

Like Gamba Osaka, where I used to play, Urawa Reds is a club with a large number of fans and supporters and is very popular. I believe it's a club where results are expected, so I want to do my best to meet those expectations and achieve results. Thank you for your support."

"I'm Kotaro Hayashi, and I've joined from FC Machida Zelvia. As Mr. Ikenishi just introduced me, I want to make full use of my seriousness and diligence both on and off the pitch, plus my ability to fight for 90 minutes, to contribute to Urawa Reds' victories. Thank you for your support."

"I'm Shuta Sasa, and I've made a permanent transfer from FC Imabari. I believe I can showcase my strengths: my ability to win the ball, my aggressive attacking play, and my fighting spirit. "I'm Yota Horiuchi, and I'm back at Urawa Reds after a year and a half on loan. As I mentioned, my body isn't yet in a condition to play soccer, and I went through a lot of hardship during this year and a half. I wasn't able to spend the time I had envisioned, but I believe I've grown significantly, both as a soccer player and as a person. I've had many discussions with Urawa Reds' reinforcement staff, and they encouraged me to 'come back to Urawa Reds and start anew,' so I've decided to take on this challenge again and have returned. First and foremost, I want to get my body back to full health as quickly as possible, and then I want to contribute to the team's victories by giving back the experience and growth I've gained so far. Even in this condition, I believe there are many things I can do to bring positive energy to the team, so I will always give 100 percent of what I can do for Urawa Reds. I look forward to working with you all again."

(新井選手にお聞きします。出身が埼玉県ということで浦和レッズは身近にあったと思うが、新井選手は埼玉のクラブでプレーすることがなかった。浦和レッズでプレーすることへの思いは？　そして、浦和レッズでは西川周作選手がずっとゴールを守っているが、レッズで正GKを目指すにあたり、どういった努力や成長を考えているのか？)
新井栄聡
「自分は埼玉出身で、初めて見たプロの試合がレッズの試合でした。自分のお父さんと試合を見に行ったときは、いやいや連れていってもらった感じだったんですけど、そのときにレッズのゴールが決まった瞬間、サポーターの方たちと喜び合っているのを見てすごく感動したというか､『サッカーってこんなに素晴らしいものなんだ』というのを小さい頃に思ったのを、今でも鮮明に覚えています。

小さい頃から浦和レッズというクラブが埼玉にあるのを感じながらサッカーをしてきたので、そのクラブに自分が加入したということを今実感して、すごくうれしく思っています。

浦和のゴールを守る男になるために努力していくことは、自分は31歳の年になるんですけど、まだまだ絶賛成長期だと思っているので、いろいろなことを吸収していろいろな自分の武器も磨きつつ、自分の欠点もしっかり見つめ直して、ここからまた一段階一段階とさらにいい選手になって、いいGKになっていけることを毎日努力してやっていきたいと思います」

(堀之内SDか池西TDにお答えいただきたいが、オフの編成について、出場機会が少なかったわけではない選手がチームを離れているのは事実だと思う。そういう点で見て、どういう戦略、あるいはどういう判断の中でこういう形になってきたのか？)
堀之内SD
「今シーズンの編成に向けては、百年構想リーグ自体が6月の上旬に終わり、だいたい6月の末、または7月の上旬に新シーズンが始まるという意味では、1ヵ月もない編成期間がありました。昨年までと比べると、やはり12月の前後にシーズンが終わり、チームの始動が2月前後。その期間が約2ヵ月あるという意味では、シンプルに今までよりも期間が短くなっているという現状がひとつあります。

さらに言うとみなさんもご存知の通り、このシーズン移行に伴って、ウィンドー自体は9月の中旬まで開いています。一方で、今はワールドカップが開かれていることも考えると、実際にヨーロッパのマーケット自体がそこまで大きく動いていない現状もあります。ですので、もちろん移籍ウィンドーはこの後も続きますし、遅ければ8月の下旬、または9月の上旬まで続くものと考えています。

先ほどおっしゃっていただいた、移籍で入ってくる選手、または復帰してくる選手、そして出ていく選手のバランスという点においては、もちろん移籍交渉というものがありますので、我々が残ってほしいと思っていても出ていってしまう、また本人のキャリア、夢というものもありますので、それを支援する形というものもあります。なので、全てが我々のコントロール下にあるかというとそうではないのが、この移籍ウィンドーだと思っています。

その中で先ほども言った通り、私と池西が中心となり、もちろんスカウト部門やデータ部門、その他いろいろなスタッフと協力し、いろいろなことを想定しながら、もしもこの選手がいなくなったときにはこの選手がすぐにリストアップされている、そういった状況を常に作れたからこそ、ここにいる素晴らしい選手に加入してもらえたと思っていますし、また素晴らしい選手が成長して復帰してもらえたと思っています。そういった意味では、シーズン移行に伴って初のウィンドーとなっていますが、この体制はうまく機能していると思いますので、先ほども言った通り、まだ終わりではないですが、しっかり継続して進めていきたいと思っております」

(編成面では監督交代がシーズンの切れ目にあったが、クラブとしてやっていきたい部分と、監督がリクエストすることもあるとは思う。クラブの狙いと、監督のサッカーに合うかどうかはどのように考えていたか？)
堀之内SD
「その点については曺 貴裁監督としっかりすり合わせを行いながらやってきました。もちろん選手だけでなく、コーチングスタッフ、その他スタッフについても、どういう体制、どういう選手がいいのかは、できる限りクラブの方針・考えと、曺 貴裁監督のリクエストみたいなところをすり合わせながら実際に行ってきています」

(水沼選手に伺います。オーストラリアのAリーグを経ての浦和レッズ入りだが、オーストラリアで自分のどんなところがアップデートされたと思っているか？)
水沼宏太
「実際、僕自身としては初の海外挑戦だったんですけど、1年半行って、タイトルも獲ることができました。タイトルを獲るために何が必要なのかは、言葉が通じなくても日々の行動やコミュニケーション、ジェスチャーだったり、そういうもので巻き込むことができるんだなということが自分の中で分かり、それはものすごく自信になりました。

もちろん自分がどういう選手かを初めて会う外国人の選手に伝えるのは、海外に行ったどの選手もたぶんそれを最初にやっていると思いますが、その中で自分に経験があって年齢が上だったのもありますけど『とにかくみんなで目標に向かってやっていこう』と決めた中で、自分がどういう振る舞いをしたほうがいいのか。そして、自分にはまだまだ成長したいという気持ちがあるので、それを全面に出していけば、その本気と熱量はどの国に行っても変わらない、それは伝わるものだと思ったので、そうして巻き込んでみんなで成長していこう、『やっていこうぜ』みたいなものは、自分の中ですごく経験・自信としてできたので、それは浦和レッズに加入しても絶対に最大限生かせるなと、自分の持っているものを全部出したいという気持ちでいるので、そこはひとつ、めちゃくちゃ成長して還元したい、そしてまだまだ成長したいなという気持ちでいます」

(工藤選手に伺います。百年構想リーグでは怪我という情報もあったが、今の状態と、そういった難しい状況を経て、自分はどういうふうに成長したと感じているか？)
工藤孝太
「今の状態で言うと、いろいろな方の支えがあって、ほぼベストな状態が作れています。(怪我は)初めての経験だったのですごく苦しい思いをしました。一番は、やっぱり僕自身、サッカーがなければ本当にしんどいなと思いましたけど、成長した部分で言うと忍耐力がつきましたし、怪我をするとやらないといけないことがたくさん出てくるので、そういったことを日々しっかりやっていくところは、怪我の期間でしっかりできたという感覚はあります。そういったところが成長した部分かなと思います」

(各選手に伺います。ファン・サポーターからは何と呼んでほしいか、愛称などがあれば教えてほしい)
水沼宏太
「同じ名前がもう一人ここにいるので(工藤孝太)どうしようかなと思いますけど、僕はセレッソ大阪にいたときに同じ『こうた(藤本康太)』がいたので、2人いても呼ばれ慣れしてはいるので、『こうた』で大丈夫です。大丈夫？(工藤に向けて)・・・大丈夫そうです(笑)」

「僕も実はファジアーノで『こうた』が2人いて(河野孝汰)、さっき水沼選手が言っていたように『こうた』呼びは慣れているので、できれば『こうた』がいいんですけど、難しかったら上の名前でも大丈夫です」

(強化のお二人にお伺いします。ここ2シーズンほど、GKチームの技術力が非常に停滞、あるいは後退しているように見え、加えて今回は西川周作選手以外全員が入れ替わるということで再建も必要だと思う。今シーズン、そしてその先に向けて、GKの強化については？)
堀之内SD
「私自身、そのような印象は昨年のチーム、そして今のチームに持っていません。先ほど池西からも説明がありましたが、確かに期限付きで佐藤(瑠星)がモンテディオ山形へ移籍し、そして完全移籍で2人(牲川歩見、吉田 舜)がチームを離れました。そういった状況の中で今回は福井選手、新井選手という2人の素晴らしい選手に加入してもらったことは、西川周作選手自身にもまた新たな刺激になると思いますし、その3人が切磋琢磨することでさらなる高みに、GK陣のより進化した姿を私自身も楽しみにしていますし、みなさまにも素晴らしいGKチームを見せられるのではないかなと思っています」

池西TD
「補足させていただきますと、昨年いた4人のGKのうち、牲川と吉田は完全移籍をしました。もちろん先ほど堀之内からありました通り、クラブとしての意向と、彼ら自身のキャリア、思考みたいなところは全てクラブの思惑、考え通りにならないというところがあり、彼らのキャリアも含めながら話し合いをしてそうなったというところです。今回期限付き移籍で出た佐藤に関しては、やはり自分(池西TD)自身もJ3のクラブにいたときにGKをレンタルで借りたりとか、実際に工藤にセンターバックとして来てもらったりもしましたけれども、やはり試合での出場経験は何事にも変えられない経験というところで、今私たちのチームで出るというところと、実際J2のチームで、今回は山形ですけれども出るというところに関しては、どこがいいのかというのは全選手ですけれども、選手を中心において何をすべきか、僕たちはどうあるべきかということを堀之内と何度も話しながら、そういう決断をしたというところでございます。

そして、後ろにいる2人に関しては申し分のない選手が来てくれたと思いますし、それが西川選手にとっても良いきっかけになり、さらにGK陣がレベルアップするというところは、期待しているところです」

(選手全員に伺います。池西TDからみなさんの説明がかなり詳しくあったが、面談の中で必ず『2026/27シーズンの浦和レッズは曺 貴裁監督のもとでこういうサッカーをやっていく』という話があったと思う。池西TDの話の中で、レッズに来るにあたってどの部分が最も心を動かされたか？)
水沼宏太
「僕がお話しさせていただいたときには、僕のパーソナリティーやプレーをものすごく分かってくださっていて、浦和レッズがこれから強くなっていくためには本当に必要なパーソナリティー、必要な人間力だというところを言ってくださったのもあります。僕自身は自分がギラギラして、まだまだ成長したいという気持ちをプレー、ピッチで表現すれば、それがチームのためになるというのを、今までの経験上で分かっているところがあるので『自分のことを分かってくれている、それで自分がそのまま表現していいんだな』という気持ちになりました。

先ほどここで紹介していただいたときに、すごく感動して泣きそうになるぐらい、それぐらいの思いを持ってお話ししていただいたんだな、という気持ちにもなりましたし、改めて『やっぱり来てよかったな、絶対強くしたいな』、その気持ちで今はいます」

南野遥海
「僕は、やっぱりサッカー選手をしている上で、『欲しい』と言ってもらえることはとてもうれしいことですし、クラブからの熱量と、自分が目指しているサッカー選手としての目標、目指すべきところの方向性と熱量はかなり合うものだと思いました。求められていることについても、オファーをいただいて話をしたときの面談でも提示はあって、そこがマッチすると思ったので、このクラブのために戦おうという決断をしました」

林 幸多郎
「この会見でも何度も出ている『成長』というワードが僕の中では響いて、新しいこの環境で、もっと自分自身も選手として成長していきたいなと思い、このクラブに移籍することを決断しました」

福井光輝
「みなさんが思っている通り、歴史と伝統あるクラブでプレーできることを率直に考えて選択しました」

新井栄聡
「自分はJ1での出場数がない中で声をかけてもらって、その中で『自分の可能性を自分よりも信じてくれているんじゃないか』という熱い思いと、あとは自分の成長もそうですけど、チームを強くしたい、浦和レッズを強くしたいという気持ちがすごく伝わってきて、自分もそこに賛同したいと思ったのが決め手でした」

笹 修大
「今治のほうまで実際に足を運んでいただいて、直接話をさせてもらっていました。自分には本当に早い段階でオファーをいただいて、自分の若さやポテンシャルだったりを、すごく評価してくれて、『浦和レッズは2006年からリーグ優勝がない』という話もあり、『共に優勝を目指して戦ってほしい』という熱い思いを話していただいたので、そういうふうに自分が評価されていることをすごくうれしく思い、自分としては即決させていただきました」

堀内陽太
「僕は、基本的にはまずはサッカーというよりも、どう身体を戻していくかということをメインに話をさせていただいていました。やっぱり自分の慣れ親しんだ、今までずっと応援してきた浦和レッズに戻ってきて再出発できるように頑張っていこうと言ってもらえたりとか、最大限サポートして、もう一度プロとして活躍できるように戻ろうというふうに強く、熱く言ってもらえたことがひとつ大きな理由にもなりました。

あとは、ここにはいないんですけど、ウガさん(宇賀神友弥・強化担当)とも何度か話をさせていただいたときに、現状での試合出場数や結果だけを見たら、僕自身もそこは分かっている上で『やっぱり戻ることはできない』という中で、『どんな形であれ、もう一度戻ってこられるのはひとつの才能なんじゃないか』『ここで復帰してチャンスを生かすのもプロとして必要な力だ』というふうにウガさんには言っていただいて、いろいろな話を聞いた上で、もう一度ここで勝負したいという思いで戻ってきました」

工藤孝太
「僕は、百年構想リーグのプレーオフで浦和レッズと岡山が最後に2試合を戦ったということもあって、堀之内さんと池西さんとは直接話す機会がありました。その話の中で、僕自身、岡山での試合に出ているプレーを見ていただいた感想や評価をいただいていました。

まず、僕自身に『浦和レッズに帰ってきたい』という思いもありましたし、本当に浦和レッズのために戦いたいという気持ちもありました。また、3年半のレンタル期間の中で、本当に浦和レッズのユニフォームを着て戦えるのは当たり前じゃないということを強く感じましたし、そういった中でチャンスをいただけたので、帰ってくるという決断をしました」

(南野選手に伺います。ガンバ大阪からJ2、J3で経験を積んで、ガンバでも百年構想リーグでゴールを決めてと、ガンバ大阪でのキャリアを築くという世界線もあると思われた中で、レッズへの移籍を選んだ理由や、ガンバからレッズに来るというのも大きな決断だったと思うが、それを選んだ思いは？)
南野遥海
「先ほどの質問と似たような感じだと思いますけど、クラブからの熱量と、自分が目指しているものがマッチするというところはありました。サッカー的なポジションの話とか、自分が監督から求められることもそうですし、そういうところを考えて、自分の成長や目標に向かう、そこに一番近づくためにはこのクラブに来てプレーすることが一番だと思ったので、それが決め手です」

(堀内選手に伺います。百年構想リーグではFC琉球で半年間プレーして、ピッチの上では悔しい思いもたくさんしてきたと思うが、一方でFC琉球では平川忠亮監督のもとでやっていて、ピッチの外でもいろいろな刺激や影響を受けてきたと思う。どんな経験をしてきて、それを浦和レッズでどう生かしていきたいか？)
堀内陽太
「FC琉球は、ボールを保持しながら縦に速いサッカーを目指していました。僕自身、運動量や球際の部分を強みとしてやってきた中で、細かいポジショニングとか、どんな状態でも前を向いて縦パスを刺す、前に前進するプレーというのは、まだまだ足りない部分だなと個人的に感じていました。そこはFC琉球でプレーしてきた期間もそうですし、外から見てきた中でも要所要所で良い感触とか発見もあって、成長できた部分だと思っています。そういう前向きなプレーは、ボランチというポジションをやっていく上ではどこのチームに行ってもすごく必要なプレーだと思いますし、そこを今までの自分のプレーにプラスアルファで表現できれば、浦和レッズという大きなチームでもひとつ違いを出して活躍していけるんじゃないかなと思っています」

(林選手に伺います。ロングスローの美学は？)
林 幸多郎
「ワールドカップの舞台でもロングスローで点が入ったりと、フリーキックやコーナーキックと同じくらい脅威のあるものだと思っています。ここでも、求められたら投げたいと思います」

(水沼選手は浦和にお父さんのご実家があるということだが、親戚の方にはどんな声をかけられたか？)
水沼宏太
「僕の父方の親戚はこの辺にすごくいるので、みんなびっくりしていましたし、何よりも父がびっくりしていたかもしれないです。本当に喜んでくれましたし、縁があるんだなと。小さい頃から高校サッカーの選手権は浦和駒場か大宮かにいつも見に行っていましたし、年末年始はいつも浦和にいることが多かったので、そういう場所で自分がプレーをすることにはまだ実感が湧かないですけど、昔から今までつながっているんだなと思うことができたので、とてもうれしいです」

(選手のみなさんに伺います。ピッチに立ったら自分のこういうプレーを見てほしい、自分の武器はこれ、この武器でレッズの勝利に貢献したい、とイメージしていることは？)
水沼宏太
「僕は今までのプロのキャリアで、『唯一無二の選手だ』って自分で思いながら、自分らしくやっていこうとここまでプレースタイルを築いてきました。みんなと関わりながらゴールを目指していく、攻撃の選手なのでゴールを目指していくという中で、とにかくチャンスを作って自分が決定的な仕事をする、それを武器に今までやってきたところがあるので、そこは浦和レッズのために全力でやりたいと思いますし、ピッチの雰囲気が良くなったなと思ったら『あ、やっぱり水沼いるな。宏太がいるな』と思ってもらえるような雰囲気にもどんどんしていきたいと思っているので、そこは注目して見ていただけたらうれしいなと思っています」

南野遥海
「特にこの半年間なんですけど、やっぱり結果はみなさんお分かりの通り、大事だと思います。それが特に大事なんだと思った瞬間がかなりあって、一番ですとACL2で優勝したときの決勝戦なんかもそうですし、やっぱり結果が求められている、プロなのでそういう世界で生きていく上ではそこが一番大事だと思っています。僕はFWをやっていて、結果を決める一番の大きな仕事ができるポジションの選手だと思っているので、得点や結果に直結するようなプレーを出したいと思っていますし、そこを見てほしいと思っています」

林 幸多郎
「自分は90分、誰よりも走って戦って、そして周りの選手のストロングを最大限生かす。そのようなプレーで貢献したいと思っています」

福井光輝
「アグレッシブにプレーして、ハイボールに出てシュートを止めて、GKとしてフィールドのプラス1になれる仕事をしたいと思います」

新井栄聡
「チーム全員で協力してゴールを守るために自分が何をするかを常に考えて、相手チームからも自チームからも、そして観客のみなさんからも『新井が守っているんだぞ』というような存在感があるプレーをしていきたいと思っています」

笹 修大
「自分は走ることであったり球際であったり、空中戦だったり、そういう際のところを武器でやっているので、そういうところを出していきたいですし、今までにいろいろなポジションを経験して、そういうユーティリティー性も評価していただいているので、そこは浦和レッズでも発揮していきたいなと思います」

堀内陽太
「僕は今までと変わらず、球際やセカンドボールの回収、反応だったりとか、そういう部分を全面に特長としてプレーしてきました。この1年半、環境が変わった中でもそういうところを意識して取り組んできたので、そこは常に見てもらいたい自分の長所でもありますし、それにプラスアルファで、1年半で培ってきたポジショニングや前を向くプレー、あとは自分でゴールを奪うプレーも取り組んできたところではあるので、そこをしっかりと浦和レッズで発揮して、勝利のために貢献できたらと思っています」

工藤孝太
「僕はヘディングのところ、空中戦です。ロングボールを蹴られてもそれを跳ね返すところだったり、スピードにも自信があるので、カバーリングだったり前に出ていくスプリントだったりというところ、あとは左足のキックにも自信を持っているので、前線への攻撃の起点やロングボールのところでは見ていただきたいです」
