Savio: "I want to prepare well for the next match and play a good Trial."
On the 22nd, after the Meiji Yasuda J1 League 27th Kashiwa Reysol, he reflected on the match and spoke about his enthusiasm for the Emperor's Cup.
"We played a very good Trial, especially in the first half. However, in the second half, we tended to give the ball to the opponents, which made things difficult. When you're in a situation like that in the second half, it's very difficult to maintain a low defense, and it's inevitable that the game will play out like that. I'm very disappointed about today's loss."
(The opponents had possession in both the first and second halves, but in the first half it seemed like you were letting them have the ball, while in the second half they were completely in possession, allowing them to use the space freely. What do you think was the reason for this?)
"I think our opponents have the highest ball possession rate in the J1 League, so I expected them to have the ball. However, we held on well and created chances when we managed to steal the ball, which allowed us to score. However, in the second half, we dropped our line too far and gave the ball to the opponents. I can't say I was satisfied with the 2-0 win, but I think it would have been better if we had scored a third goal.
Plus, our strength is ball possession, so I think it all came down to the fact that we weren't able to do that."
(There was some booing from Kashiwa supporters when the first goal was scored, but how was Trial at Sankyo Frontier Kashiwa Stadium after a long time?)
"I think that's normal. I've been with this club (Kashiwa Reysol) for a long time, and I respect everyone and wish them the best of luck. However, I'm currently fighting as a player for Urawa Reds. I'm happy to be with the Reds, and I want to do my best to achieve our goals together with the team."
(Finally, I'd like to hear some positive words.)
"First of all, we need to switch gears. We also have the Emperor's Cup on Wednesday. We want to prepare well and Trial well so that we can achieve our goals in this tournament as well."
