Matsuo: "I want to play in an atmosphere that makes the other team think 'I don't want to Trial at Saitama Stadium.'"

After the Meiji Yasuda J1 League 20th Kyoto Sanga F.C. match on 16th, Yusuke Matsuo who scored the first goal Trial looked back on the game and talked about his enthusiasm for the consecutive games.

(What about the goal scene?)
The ball spilled over and I was able to accumulate it a little.

(Do you think your own good form will improve yet?) "I think it will improve even more.
(Do you think your own performance will improve?) "I think it will improve further, but I think it is important to continue to do well next time. Unlike cup competitions, the league is not a marathon, but it is important to keep going strong.

(It seems to me that you have been able to catch up even with an out-of-the-way vertical pass, and from that point on you have been able to get into good shape.)
(You seem to be able to catch up even with an inadvertent vertical pass and get a good shape from there.) "Today, the other team had a high line, so that made the opponent's midfield a little longer. I thought that was my job, and I was always conscious of it.

If the opponent is putting pressure on me, one option is to turn the ball over, and I continue to offer that option. If the opponent is not prepared, an about ball can be effective, and if the opponent is prepared, I think the current team is in a position to take different options. I would like the ball holder to choose that option.

(What is the reason for the lack of ebbs and flows now?)
(What is the reason for the lack of waves now? (What are the reasons for the lack of waves now?) "I think there are many factors. There is still a lot of room for improvement, but I hope that these aspects of my game will continue to appear consistently, and I will continue to play while keeping a close eye on my opponents and always knowing what makes them uncomfortable.

(Do you think that Matsuo's one-top position will have the effect of lowering the opponent's line?)
(Do you think Matsuo's one-top position will have the effect of lowering the opponent's line? I also flow to the side, and when I do so, someone comes in firmly, and when I come off, someone else comes out firmly, so there is continuity in play, and I think the balance is very good.

(Do you think there is more play where the passes are connected and you are getting into the opponent's space?)
Trial (Do you think there has been an increase in the number of plays in which passes are connected and players are getting into the opponent's space?

(Is your composure in front of the goal noticeable?)
(What about your composure in front of the goal?) "By nature, I am not the type to get flustered at the top of the lineup. I watch my opponents carefully, and if other players are standing in good positions, I can decide where to stand on my own. In that sense, it is relatively easy for me to know where to aim and where to be. However, I would like to improve on counter situations when I have the ball, so I would like to be more conscious of that.

(What did you think about the division of work, where Matsuo took the back or side of the ball and Ryoma Watanabe player used the front?)
(What do you mean when you say, "When Ryoma (Watanabe) runs to the front, I run to the back, but not all the way to the back. I am also able to make decisions in accordance with the ball holder, and the ball is now placed in a good position by the ball holder, which gives us more depth in attack as a team. Also, our recovery press after losing the ball is very good, and I think we are in a virtuous circle where we can control the game in a way that allows us to regain possession immediately.

(Aren't you also making efforts in the way you receive the ball?)
(Are you also working on how to receive the ball?) "It depends on the position of the opponent and ourselves. Because we are able to correct this on our own, I think we have more time to control the game.

(Do you feel that the first line of defense is working well?)
(Do you feel that the first line of defense is working well? (Do you feel that the first line of defense is working well?

Perhaps the thing I have improved the most is the timing of when to apply pressure. I am able to judge when to put up a block and when to apply pressure, which makes it easier for other players to switch off. I think this is an area in which I have improved.

(Isn't the fact that you can play consecutive home matches without having to move around a lot a good thing?)
(Isn't it a good trend to play at home without traveling?) "At the beginning of the season, there were many scenes where the opponent played with confidence at home, but I don't want to Trial do that, and I want to play in an atmosphere where the opponent thinks, 'I don't want to Trial do that at Saitama Stadium.
