At the conclusion of the Great East Japan Earthquake Support Project "Heart-full Soccer in Tohoku"

The "Great East Japan Earthquake Support Project: Heart-full Soccer in Tohoku," which began in response to the Great East Japan Earthquake in 2011, is now in its 15th year.

As time passes, the landscape of the disaster-stricken areas is changing day by day, but we must not forget that there are still people facing difficult situations, along with the memories of that day. Once again, we pray for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives in the earthquake disaster, and offer our heartfelt sympathies to all those who have been affected. We also express our deepest respect to all those who are working hard to rebuild the disaster-stricken areas.

Immediately after the disaster, Urawa Reds have been working with Friends of the United Nations Asia-Pacific to continue their Great East Japan Earthquake and other relief projects as part of their reconstruction efforts. These efforts include fundraising for the Great East Japan Earthquake and other relief efforts during home games, holding photo exhibitions of reconstruction support activities, and the Heart-full Soccer in Tohoku initiative, which has been running continuously since 2011. Over the past 15 years, the club has hosted soccer meets for over 6,400 children, providing emotional support through soccer. Through these activities, we have cherished our connections with those in the disaster-stricken areas through various forms of support. Seeing children regain their smiles and enjoy soccer is a great source of strength for us.

Having continued its support activities in the disaster-stricken areas since July 2011, Heart-full Soccer in Tohoku has now decided to mark a milestone with its visit in October 2025. Looking back, we have been encouraged by the smiles and words of each and every person we met in the disaster-stricken areas, and have received a great deal of strength from them. While we were intent on "supporting" the areas in whatever small way we could, I feel that our activities were actually "supported" even more than that.

We have been able to continue this far thanks to our colleagues who have sympathized with this activity and walked the path with us, as well as to all of you who have supported us. We would like to express our sincere gratitude.

Although the "Heart-full Soccer in Tohoku" activities have reached a milestone, we will continue to participate in the "Urawa Reds Cup Yamada Town Heartful Youth Soccer Tournament" as part of our "Exchange and Growth" initiative, with Urawa Reds Junior Team at the center. Heart-full Club will also continue to be involved, with the aim of providing a place for exchange among children who will lead the next generation, improving their soccer skills, and revitalizing the local community.
The connections and learnings we have made through this activity will continue to live on within us.

We are deeply grateful for the 15 years of our relationship.
We will continue to support each other and move towards the future together with you.
