Decorations for "Urawa, the city of soccer" started at Urawa Interchange on the Tohoku Expressway
With the generous cooperation of the East Nippon Expressway Company Limited Kanto Branch (hereinafter referred to as "NEXCO East Japan"), a family partner of Urawa Reds Reds, NEXCO East Japan, Saitama City, and Urawa Reds will work together to decorate the Tohoku Expressway Urawa IC (exit from the Iwatsuki direction) with the theme of "Urawa, the city of soccer." This initiative will be the first attempt in Japan to wrap design on the pillars of a highway toll booth.
The aim of this initiative is to wrap the toll gate pillars at the Tohoku Expressway Urawa IC, the closest IC to Saitama Stadium 2025, with the "Soccer Town Urawa" design in preparation for the opening match of the Meiji Yasuda J1 League home game for the 2025 season on March 2, so that everyone traveling on the expressway can feel the excitement of Urawa, a city with one of Japan's leading soccer cultures. Through this decoration, we hope to have many people visiting Saitama City, the hometown of Urawa Reds, feel the "Soccer Town Urawa" and create excitement throughout the region.
The design that will be wrapped around the pillars of the Urawa IC toll gate is the same as the streetlight banner flags that will be displayed in various places in Saitama City in time for the start of the 2025 season, creating a sense of unity centered on the Urawa area. The streetlight banners feature designs that symbolize the club's history and the culture of the city of soccer, expressing the connection between the club and the community. It is a device that allows both people walking through the city of Saitama and people passing by on the highway to feel like they are in the city of soccer.
*As these decorations are located on a highway, we ask for your understanding and cooperation in obeying traffic rules while passing through, and in refraining from looking away from the road or pulling onto the shoulder to view or take photos.
