Komori: "I want to showcase my strengths by scoring goals."

On the 2nd, after MEIJI YASUDA J1 100 YEAR VISION LEAGUE Round 14 match against JEF United Ichihara Chiba [MATCH PARTNER: Medical Care Service], Hiiro Komori, who contributed to the team's winning streak with a goal in his second consecutive Trial, reflected on his goal and Trial.

(Looking back on Trial)
"I'm really glad we were able to win consecutively."

(What were your thoughts when you stepped onto the pitch?)
"We were leading 1-0, so I went in with the desire to score another goal and make things easier for the team. The manager had called me a 'changer,' not just a substitute, so I went in with a strong determination to make a difference."

(What were the manager's instructions when you were substituted?)
"I was instructed to focus on defense, to keep the ball in my pocket, and also to 'go score a goal.'"

(The goal, like in the previous match, was scored with a left-footed shot from outside the penalty area, wasn't it?)
"It was a similar situation to the previous match against Kawasaki Frontale. I was able to face forward in a good position, and I'm glad that my powerful shot resulted in a goal."

(Just like in the previous match, you came on as a substitute and scored in a short amount of time. Was there an atmosphere that suggested you could score?)
"I scored a goal in the last match and was on a good run, so I think I was able to ride that wave again today."

(What about goal celebrations?)
"Before Trial, I wasn't planning on celebrating even if I scored a goal, but the moment I did, my mind went blank and my body moved on its own. I feel really bad about it."

(Since today's opponent is your former club, JEF United Ichihara Chiba, I imagine you went into Trial with strong feelings?)
"This is a match I was really looking forward to because it's the club that nurtured me, and I played with a sense of gratitude. It was Trial filled with many different emotions."

(After Trial, there were boos from the Chiba supporters, but the Reds fans and supporters chanted "Komori" to drown them out.)
"I was really surprised. I was so happy."

(I think the competition among the forwards is getting fiercer.)
"There are a lot of good forwards, so I want to make sure I don't lose out and show my strengths by scoring goals."

(How did you watch Trial while you were injured?)
"We've been in a tough situation, so I wanted to recover quickly and help the team, and I also wanted to make the fans and supporters smile again as soon as possible."

(So far, you've been coming on as a substitute in the second half, but how is your physical condition?)
"I can play longer, and I want to score more goals."

(This is their first consecutive win of the season, right?)
"I think these two Trial showed the kind of football that Tatsuya-san (Coach Tatsuya Tanaka) wants to play, and the good points of the team."

(What are your plans for the next match?)
"We have another Trial coming up soon, so I want to take good care of myself, prepare well, and go into Kashiwa Reysol match."
