Hidano: "We will not look down and will focus only on winning the next Trial."

On the 28th, after MEIJI YASUDA J1 100 YEAR VISION LEAGUE Round 4 match against Kashima Antlers, Renji Hidano who scored the opening goal, reflected on Trial and spoke about his determination to win the next match.

(Looking back at the goal)
"I knew that Takuro (Kaneko) would be watching me, so I went for a 100 percent sprint to get ahead of him."

(What about the statistic of 2 goals in 3 Trial?)
"I'm not satisfied, and before the goal, I hit the crossbar with a shot. If I can't finish those chances, I'll end up with results like today's. The team was really focused on getting the third goal, so I think my inability to score that is something I need to work on."

(I think Hidano's runs behind the defense are what's driving the team forward. What were you focusing on today, and how do you feel about your own contribution?)
"My approach remained the same; I focused on running as hard as I could for the team. I think I did well in that respect."

(There was also a scene where he received the ball with his back to the opponent, wasn't there?)
"Lately, I've been trying to improve my control of the ball, and I had a good feeling about it. I was nervous because my opponent was Naomichi Ueda, but the fact that it worked surprisingly well gave me some confidence."

(I think Ueda is one of the top players in the J.League, but how do you view the standards for a forward in the J.League?)
"Personally, I aim to play on a grand scale. Regardless of whether I'm Japanese or not, my goal is to be able to play like that against anyone. I want to become a player with a scale that no one can even imagine, so I want to continue doing this."

(What about your composure regarding scoring?)
"Basically, it doesn't matter who the opponent is. Whether they're a national team player or not, what I do doesn't change. Today, that showed in the form of a goal, but I was just one point short, so I want to work on that even more."

(How did you watch Trial after being substituted?)
"I felt so frustrated and ashamed that I wasn't on the pitch when we conceded a goal. I want to become a player who can stay on the pitch for the full 90 minutes."

(What aspects of your physical condition would you like to improve?)
"Personally, I think I'll get used to the intensity with each Trial, and I'll be able to play for longer and longer periods, so I don't think that will be a problem."

(What needs to be improved for the team to win?)
"Personally, I want to make all the chances I have, and as a team, we conceded goals in a similar way today, so I think it's important for everyone, not just Ryoma (Watanabe), to make adjustments during Trial. We all talked after today's Trial and agreed that it's not something to be discouraged about, so instead of hanging our heads in times like these, we want to focus on getting three points in the next Trial."

(What about the atmosphere at the home opener, including visual support?)
"It was my first time playing at Saitama Stadium, and the atmosphere they created was truly fantastic. It really boosted my spirits and made me want to score a goal. I'm so sorry we couldn't win, but we'll definitely win next time, so I want to say, 'Please fight alongside us again.'"
