On the 30th, after the Meiji Yasuda J1 League Matchday 37 against Fagiano Okayama, Renji Hidano a specially designated player currently affiliated with a university, made his professional debut and scored his first professional goal, reflecting on Trial.

"When I found out I was going to make my debut, I knew I absolutely wanted to score a goal. There was a banner today, but there wasn't much cheering during Trial. I think there was some cheering during added time in the second half today, and I wish I could have been the reason for that."

(You were in good form during practice, but what did you focus on during the actual game?)
"In terms of defense, the players nearby helped me out. In attack, I've always been conscious of making runs behind the defense and maintaining my speed, and I think that was good because it came through in today's Trial."

(In the first half, you seemed to receive the ball at your feet more often. How did you plan to combine your role as a winger with your own strengths during Trial?)
"In the first half, the team was pressing forward, but we were stuck in a rut and couldn't get to the goal. In the second half, I decided to use my speed more, and the coach had told me to make diagonal runs instead of staying wide on the wing. I think that's exactly what happened in the goal."

(In the scoring scene, I think the fact that you moved inside rather than receiving the ball on the outside led to the goal.)
"Even in practice, I felt that Shoya Nakajima was the one who was giving me the best passes. I knew that if I could get behind him even once, I could definitely win with my speed, so I was only thinking about getting behind him while making sure not to get caught offside."

(I imagine there was some tension in that one-on-one situation after completely breaking away from the others, right?)
"On the contrary, I felt like I could see things calmly and slowly, so I think I was able to calmly pour it in."

(Hidano is the first specially designated player to play in a league Trial for Urawa Reds, and he even set a record by scoring a goal in his debut match, right?)
"Before Trial, I tried not to think about those things as much as possible. People around me were saying all sorts of things, but I went into Trial with the sole desire to win, regardless of records or anything like that, so I'm glad that it led to a good result."

(Although Hidano is a specially designated player, he showed a strong desire to compete. What is the underlying reason for that?)
"I had participated in practice a few times, and I was always staying behind on weekends to practice with the other players. It didn't matter that I was a specially designated player or anything like that; I was just really frustrated. I wanted to get into Trial as soon as possible and get some results, so when I was chosen to start in today's Trial, I was determined to pour all the frustration I'd felt up until then into it. I'm glad that it paid off."

(The manager said he decided to use Hidano because of his speed and finishing ability behind the defense. Did your feelings about your performance in this Trial and your aspirations for next season change at all?)
"I felt I was making an impression in practice and I was feeling confident. With Takuro Kaneko unable to play today, I believed I would definitely get a chance. I'm glad I was able to deliver results, and I think I was able to make a good impression for next season as well. I definitely want to be in the starting lineup for opening day next season, so I'm glad I was able to produce results today in that regard."
