"Since returning to Urawa Reds a year ago, I feel that I have not been able to show everyone the performance I had envisioned, and I feel very disappointed.
I've put in as much effort as I can to shine once again, and have taken on many challenges. However, things still didn't go as planned, and I feel a strong sense of responsibility for that, but at the same time, I've been able to accept that this is the time to put an end to it. Having continued to face myself and challenge myself over the past year, I honestly feel that now is the time to move on to the next step.
I was so happy to be able to wear the Urawa uniform and play at Saitama Stadium once again. I really wanted to share more joy with the fans and supporters and end this challenge in the best possible way.
However, being able to fight together again brought great joy to my football career, and I believe I was able to spend a truly happy time.
As for my next challenge, I am considering a career as a coach after retiring as a player.
I thought that the best choice for me would be to go to Europe at this time when I still have value as a player and gain some experience as a coach.
I will continue playing as a player for a little while longer, but after that I would like to stay in Europe and in the future aim to become a manager who can be successful in Europe.
I will not forget the six and a half years I spent there since being promoted from Urawa Reds Youth, and the regret I feel for what I was unable to achieve in this past year. If possible, I would like to go to Europe for my third attempt with Urawa Reds as a coach, with the hope of one day being a great motivation for me.
Before the transfer, I had many discussions with Sports Director Horinouchi, and I am truly grateful that he made the decision with me in mind, taking into account my current age and future career prospects.
Finally, I am blessed with great teammates on this team, and have had wonderful encounters with players, managers, coaches, and staff. The relationships I have made over the past year are a great asset to me.
I feel that this team has great potential. To be honest, I wish I could have led the team with a bigger shoulder. However, the relationship I formed with them and the time I spent with them were wonderful.
The battle for titles in the J1 League and Levain Cup will continue, and I will be cheering on my teammates wholeheartedly so that they can capture these two titles.
To all our fans and supporters.
I personally don't like it when players apologize to fans and supporters. However, this time I want to say I'm sorry I wasn't able to meet your expectations. I'm painfully aware of the huge gap between my big words and my failure to achieve anything. Nevertheless, I'm truly grateful for your unwavering support, no matter what the circumstances.
Although there have been times of arguments and conflicts with our fans and supporters, they remain important to me. I hope that you will continue to be a reassuring presence supporting Urawa Reds. I would be delighted if you continue to support the club with the same passion.
We will inform you of future plans as soon as they are officially decided.
