"We want to show a team that is progressing in the match against Kyoto," said head coach Maciej Skorza (regular press conference, 2/20)

On the 20th, Maciej Skorza director held a press conference online and talked about his enthusiasm for the upcoming Meiji Yasuda J1 League 2nd Kyoto Sanga F.C. match at the Sanga Stadium by KYOCERA on the 22nd (Sat).

(After the previous game Vissel Kobe, I saw that you felt that a draw was not a bad result, but what do you hope to achieve against Kyoto?)
First of all, I feel we played well against Kobe. I feel that we executed our game plan in a good way in many aspects. However, we only got one point. Against Kyoto, we want to show that we are a more advanced team. We will aim to play with the same high intensity. However, I would like to create more chances than we did against Kobe and ultimately lead to three points.

(Compared to Kobe, I expect Kyoto to match us man-to-man at a higher rate, but I had the impression that we had a hard time Trial with that kind of defense on the last day of the Okinawa training camp Nagoya Grampus. Based on that, what do you think you will need to do to get yourselves in the game against Kyoto?)
I would like to play with rotation and other position changes. However, I think we must maintain our structure after rotation. Certainly, we had difficulties in the preseason game against Nagoya, so we want to learn from that and make the most of it. We must consider the characteristics of our opponents and be careful, but we must also approach the style we want to play. I think our style will emerge more as we play.

(Maciej In 2023, when the coach was in charge for one year, 15 Trial of the 34 Trial J1 League games also had no goals scored, but 8 Trial of those 15 Trial were 0-0 draws. What do you think will be important to reduce the number of Trial ending up scoreless?)
"I think there are various Trial results of 0-0. For example, I think the 0-0 in the previous game was interesting Trial for the fans and supporters. And as we move toward the style we are aiming for, I think the number of scoreless Trial will decrease."

(All players participated in yesterday's training. Among them, Maciej the director and coaches select 20 players every Trial but is the number of players in the large group increasing Maciej that the director can send out with confidence? I felt the tactical penetration of the players on the pitch after watching the training camp and the Kobe game. Maciej How does the director feel about this?)
'We have 31 players with skill, ambition and of course egos. First of all, it is important that the whole group keeps it up with a good attitude and positive energy. It is positive for us to have more people on the bench and a 20-member list. However, our schedule this season will be different from other teams, as we will have a very tight schedule after International Match Week in March, so it will be very important for us to be able to compete with 20 members there. And now I am asking the players who start on the bench to stay calm and keep working hard. I ask each of them to wait for their chance."

(What is your impression of Kyoto? The cold weather is likely to affect you on the day of the tournament.)
) "There is a possibility that the weather will be like that, but it is the same condition for both teams. We are preparing taking into account Kyoto's style, but Kyoto was strong in the second half of last season. Especially with the addition of (Rafael) Elias and (Marco) Tullio in attack, the team has changed its shape. I think the linkage between those two and Hara (Daichi) in the front three is good. I think this Trial will be a tough opponent, especially fighting at their home ground."

(I think one of Reds' strong points is to eliminate the good points of their opponents. Against Kobe, you had a very good combination of Ryoma Watanabe and Kaito Yasui players in the front line, but what do you think about the combination of the front line, for example, using Samuel Gustafson player to show a different Reds against Kyoto?)
I think Ryoma and Kaiwatari did a very good job in the previous game. I have a good impression. Samuel was on the bench, but he is a different type of player. So when Samuel is on the pitch, the way he plays will change a little bit. We have that option depending on the situation, so I think the way Samuel comes in will be very effective for us.

(You started the new Danilo Boza player from the opening game, how do you evaluate his play and his combination with Marius Hoibraten player?)
'I have a good impression of Danilo. I think it was not bad for the first Trial. He can play tough defense as expected. I think he has a very good approach and distance to the striker. He has skills that can be utilized in the build-up. We are working on communication with Marius from training, but it may take some time for this to become smooth at a high level.

(Boza was very strong in his contact with Yuya Osako, but this season the J-League is trying to make contact as legitimate as possible and to increase playing time. Have you stressed this to your players?)
'I could feel the difference in the opening rounds, and I think it's going to be the same in the future.' It will be interesting for me to see if that will be the same in the future Trial. I don't think it is an easy situation for the referee. In the Kobe game, the players were surprised at times. I had also watched Trial the previous Friday and sensed a difference, so we talked about that with the players in the locker room before going to Trial."

(There was some talk about the weather earlier, but there is a forecast of wet snow on the day of the Kyoto game at Trial time. What are your thoughts on Trial in the snow?)
First of all, I hope it doesn't rain. If it were to fall and pile up on the pitch, the element of chance would be more Trial If the conditions change like that, we want the players to adapt quickly. We have a lot of skilled players, so if it rains, we want them to get used to it and play quickly. It's not in our hands, so we will fight with patience.
