- "We knew before Trial that we were facing a team that boasts one of the best defenses in the J.League. We wanted to apply high pressure, use the space when we had the ball, and change sides, but we couldn't increase the speed of our play. Although it wasn't many times, when we used left back Ogiwara (Takuya), we were able to break through the opponent's defensive line and create chances. However, it wasn't enough to score a goal.
At halftime I told the players, 'If you play quickly but without rushing, spaces will gradually open up,' but the space between the lines was tighter and more compact than I had expected, and was maintained until the end.
After that, we brought in fresh players, but we made one substitution that we didn't expect - Akimoto Takahiro's injury.
"I think the players did their best and didn't give up until the last minute. I think Mawatari's chance was also a dangerous moment for the opponent, but it wasn't enough to win."
