Trial-match comments
Ricardo Rodriguez
(Head Coach)
- (How does it feel to have won the ACL finals in Thailand, a country you once managed, a place you were previously unable to participate in?)
"I lived in Thailand for three years before, so I know this pitch well. There were some difficult moments in this type of weather, but I'm very happy that we were able to win the ACL for the first time. I would like to continue winning our next Trial. We are expected to become champions of this tournament, and as the Reds, we are aiming to achieve a historic third victory. I was in Thailand for the past three years, so I am happy to be back. I am very happy to be here, where I spent time with my family."
(What were your expectations of the team before Trial? How satisfied were you after Trial?)
"What I'm satisfied with about this Trial is that we got three points. We could have scored more goals, so I'm not satisfied with that yet. We were playing in difficult weather, but I think we could have scored more goals. I want to continue to score more goals."
Opponent team comment
Kim Do Hoon
(Head Coach)
- "First of all, I would like to thank the fans who came from far away to support us. They supported the team until Trial final whistle. Urawa Reds are a very good team and I think they played well enough to deserve the victory.
The team looked a little unstable, nervous, and different from usual. That was a bit of a feeling during Trial. But I have to thank them. They tried to stay confident until the end of Trial, and not a single person gave up on Trial until the very end. I think they maintained the attitude I expect from my team and players as a coach, and expressed that.
We have to face the reality. The reality is clear, the level is different. We have to understand that, work harder in the next five Trial, and close the gap to improve ourselves.
Once again, I would like to express my gratitude to the players for their efforts and play today. As a coach, I am very pleased with their attitude. However, I would like to challenge myself to close the gap and get a little closer to the top of Asia."
