Urawa Reds, in collaboration with Saitama Prefecture, has produced an environmental education material titled "For the Future of Sports: Expanding the Decarbonization Movement with Urawa Reds."

This educational material was created as part of Urawa Reds' environmental initiatives, with the cooperation of the Energy and Environment Division of the Saitama Prefectural Government's Environmental Department. Its purpose is to deepen understanding of the relationship between sports and climate change, to teach decarbonization actions that can be practiced in daily life, and to encourage individual behavioral change.
This educational material is used to provide all players and club staff, including those on the top team, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Urawa Reds Ladies, and the academy, with opportunities to learn about environmental issues.

The teaching materials allow students to learn about the mechanisms and effects of global warming and climate change, as well as their relationship to the environment surrounding sports. They also introduce decarbonization actions that can be taken in everyday life, such as choosing environmentally friendly products, reducing food waste, and using reusable water bottles.

Furthermore, the digital version of this teaching material will be distributed sequentially to a total of 1,192 schools (as of April 1, 2026) in Saitama Prefecture, including municipal elementary and junior high schools and Saitama Prefectural Ina Gakuen Junior High School, and is planned to be used for environmental education for children in the prefecture.

As part of the use of this educational material, an environmental education workshop was held for junior athletes on June 14th. In the workshop, participants learned about the impact of global warming and climate change on the sports environment, as well as decarbonization actions that can be taken in daily life.
