Kids Festa 2026 to be held at Redsland

On May 4th, the "Redsland Kids Festa 2026" was held at Redsland.
Based on the J.League's "100-Year Vision," Reds Land, a sports facility that grows together with the community, was established in Sakura Ward, Saitama City in 2005 and celebrated its 20th anniversary last year. This event, which aims to be "a place where local children can have fun to their heart's content," started in 2022 and is now being held for the fifth time.

Despite prior rain forecasts causing concern about the weather, approximately 900 people, including families with children, attended the event. From the morning, the cheerful voices of many children echoed throughout the venue.

At the opening ceremony, Makoto Taguchi, Representative Director of Reds Land and also Representative of Urawa Reds, expressed his gratitude to the sponsoring companies, cooperating organizations, and operating staff for their support. He also mentioned the "Reds Land 20th Anniversary Ceremony" scheduled for the afternoon of the same day and urged participants to "create fun memories during Golden Week."

Next, Urawa Reds brand ambassador Masayuki Okano appeared. He demonstrated the dribbling and shooting challenge, and his brilliant play drew loud cheers not only from the children but also from their parents.

In the morning session, the annual "Enjoy! Full-Power Stamp Rally!!" was held. Children, with their stamp cards in hand, explored the vast grounds and tried out a variety of activities. In addition to activities such as dribbling and shooting challenges, rugby, drone experiences, cheerleading, blind soccer, urban sports, and pickleball, the venue featured a variety of attractions and workshops, including cotton candy making and American flower making.

During the pickleball experience, participants used paddles that were slightly larger than table tennis rackets and were seen enjoying the fun of the sport by practicing against targets.

In addition, the Saitama Sports Commission offered urban sports experiences where children tried slacklining and BMX. It was impressive to see the children smiling and trying again and again.

In the afternoon, the artificial turf area was opened, providing time for families and friends to play freely. Participants not only went around to the prepared attractions, but also ran around on the grass, chased balls, and enjoyed watching acrobatic urban sports and cheerleading demonstrations, spending their time however they pleased.

Many of these diverse experiences were not prepared solely by Reds Land, but were made possible through the cooperation of local organizations and individuals. This time, too, many organizations participated and shaped the event, including Urawa Rugby School, Drone Bliss, Koharubi, SAITAMA Sai Rose, SHIBIRAKI Cheerleading Club BLOOMIES, Boy Scouts Saitama South District Council, Pickleball Academy, Saitama T.Wings, and Saitama Sports Commission. In addition to Kids Festa, Reds Land holds community-participatory events every season, and the circle of cooperation is gradually expanding with each event.

Thanks to meticulous support in unseen areas, such as preparations for rain, responses to the weather on the day, and communication and safety management at each booth, the event proceeded smoothly without any major disruptions from start to finish.
At the closing ceremony, gratitude was reiterated for the cooperation of many people who supported the philosophy of "nurturing and raising local children within the community," making the event possible. The hope that participants would continue to create many more memories at Reds Land was also conveyed.

This day was also a day to truly appreciate the 20 years that Redsland has walked. In the morning, children ran around on the lawn at the Kids Festa, and in the afternoon, the 20th anniversary ceremony looked back on the history of walking together with the community. The smiles of the children and the 20 years of Redsland's journey were all present in the same day.

Urawa Reds is a football club, but Kids Festa is by no means just a place to enjoy football. Some children are skilled at dribbling, while others don't even know the word "dribble" yet. Some children are touching a rugby ball for the first time, others are trying blind football using a ball that makes a sound, some are trying to balance on a slackline, and others are holding a pickleball paddle for the first time.

Approaching things they've never seen before. Moving their bodies. Trying again even if it doesn't work out. The accumulation of such experiences ultimately became the "gateway to discovering the joy of sports" for the children. It was a day that truly demonstrated the realization of the J.League's 100-Year Vision, which aims to "create sports facilities and plazas covered in green grass," "operate various sports clubs with soccer at its core, and create an environment where everyone, from athletes to lifelong learners, can enjoy the sport they want to play now," and "provide a place where people of various generations can interact through sports."

Maintaining its original concept of "an event where children can have fun to their heart's content," Redsland Kids Festa 2026 was created in collaboration with the local community. The smiles of the children who gathered spread across the lush green natural grass of Redsland, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary.
