The "REDS Smile Relay Project" launches, aiming to reduce waste and connect smiles.
Urawa Reds is pleased to announce the launch of a new initiative, the "REDS Smile Relay Project," aimed at contributing to the local community.
This initiative aims to make effective use of food and goods that would otherwise have been discarded due to reasons such as being in stock or nearing their expiration date, and deliver them to households in need. In addition to reducing environmental impact through food waste reduction and CO2 emission reduction, we will contribute to achieving the SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals) by supporting local children and families in need.
Food items will be donated and provided to approximately 300 impoverished families in Saitama Prefecture through the Saitama City Children's Cafeteria Network (Representative: Kaori Honma), a general incorporated association, and goods will be donated and provided through "Kids Door Family Support," operated by the certified NPO Kids Door (Chairperson: Yumiko Watanabe).

With this collaboration, we hope to spread smiles to local children and families, and create a future where those smiles spread even further. With this in mind, we have named this initiative the "REDS Smile Relay Project."
This project is scheduled to launch on May 1st, 2026 (Friday).
Comment from Ms. Kaori Honma, Representative Director of the Saitama City Children's Cafeteria Network
"The Saitama City Children's Cafeteria Network consists of approximately 50 children's cafeterias across the city's 10 wards. We have deepened our collaboration with Urawa Reds Reds and Reds Land through various initiatives to support local children, and we feel that this project will further accelerate those efforts."
For the sake of children's smiles, the Saitama City Children's Cafeteria Network will continue to carry on this legacy."

Comment from Yumiko Watanabe, Chairperson of the certified NPO Kids Door
"We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Urawa Reds for their efforts in this matter."
Kidsdoor Family Support, operated by Kidsdoor, is an initiative that provides daily support to economically disadvantaged families by offering food and daily necessities. On the ground, we have witnessed many moments when this support brings peace of mind to children and their parents. Urawa Reds' project, which will deliver usable food and goods to families in need, is of great significance in both reducing food waste and supporting children from impoverished families.
Through this initiative, we hope to bring smiles to many families, and that these smiles will then spread to others."
