14 years have passed since the Great East Japan Earthquake.
As time passes, the landscape of the disaster-stricken areas is changing day by day, but we must not forget that there are still people who are facing difficult situations, along with the memories of that day. Once again, we pray for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives in the earthquake disaster, and offer our heartfelt sympathies to all those who have been affected by it. We also express our deepest respect to all those who are working hard to rebuild the disaster-stricken areas.

Since the disaster, Urawa Reds have continued to support the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami in cooperation with Friends of the United Nations Asia Pacific as part of our efforts to support the recovery effort, however small they may be. We have held fundraising activities for the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami, held photo exhibitions of reconstruction support activities during home games, and have been running the Great East Japan Earthquake Support Project "Heart-full Soccer in Tohoku" since 2011, which has held soccer exchange events for approximately 5,500 children and provided "psychological" care through soccer. While changing the form of our support, we have always cherished our connections with the people in the disaster-stricken areas. Seeing children regain their smiles and enjoy soccer through these activities is a great source of strength for us.

In recent years, there have been a series of natural disasters across Japan. We believe it is important not only to keep the memory of the earthquake disaster fresh, but also to explore the type of support that will be needed in the future and to continue providing support to those affected by the disaster in the best way that Urawa Reds can.

As a member of the local community and society, Urawa Reds will continue to support and interact with those affected by the disaster, and will contribute to creating a society in which more people can live in peace for the future.

There is a limit to what we Urawa Reds can accomplish on our own, so your kind support is essential. While we strongly hope that no major natural disasters will occur in the future, in the event of an emergency, the feelings of each and every one of you will be a great source of strength to us. As in the past, and in the future, let us join forces as Urawa Reds family and move forward together.
