Trial-match comments

Zeljko Petrovich

(Head Coach)

"I'm very satisfied with how well Trial, especially with how we pressed in the first half. Of course, we had prepared every detail. There were good and bad moments, but everyone played well today and deserved praise. The players who came on as substitutes also played well. All of us showed our fighting spirit.
I am especially pleased with Edmilson's play. He showed up in many places and kept the ball well, which allowed Márcio, Kashiwagi, and Tatsuya in the back to play better. And it goes without saying that the four defenders all played better than they should have. We saw a lot of combination plays, and I think we could have scored two or three more goals, but I think everyone played well and deserved praise. I am very happy that we were able to play such Trial against an opponent at the top level in the J.League.
And today, I talked about how the other experienced players would lead the young players, Shunki, Ugajin, and Genki, and fight. I am really proud that everyone played with that in mind. I am especially happy that Genki scored a goal, and Shunki also played well. I am also very happy that most of the other players, including Ugajin, Nagata, Márcio, Yosuke, and Tatsuya, played well. I think that everyone, from the medical staff to the technical staff, from the president to the manager, worked together to win. I think that if we keep up this momentum, we will be able to win many Trial.
However, we have only played two Trial in the league so far. We only managed to get three points. From now on, we will have to train hard and make sure the players understand our way of playing. In the midst of all this, I feel that the players are starting to enjoy the game again. I want to keep going like this.
And I think the most worthy of praise are the supporters who came to the stadium. No matter where you look in the world, I think that Boca Juniors (Argentina) and Urawa Reds are the only clubs where so many supporters stay and continue singing after Trial is over, and encourage the team during Trial. I would like to give all my joy and praise to the supporters who came to the stadium today. I'm sorry, I've spoken a little too long. As for my character, maybe my tendency to talk too much is not good for a coach (laughs)."

Opponent team comment

(Head Coach)

“It was a very hard game for us. I think it was logical that we lost like this. Even 3-0 would have been a good result.Read More I could have predicted the worst."
