Trial-match comments
Mihailo Petrovic
(Head Coach)
- "We were finally able to beat Omiya. Early on, Novakovic had a definitive chance but was lucky not to score. We scored from a penalty kick and the opponent was sent off with a red card, so we went into the second half trailing 1-0. After we scored the first goal, we had many chances to score a second, but we couldn't score. If we had scored earlier, it would have been an easier game for us.
I think we were able to win in a good way because our players had a strong will and kept fighting until the end. Although the opponent was one player down, I think we were able to outplay them. For the team, it was a moment when we were finally freed from the heavy burden of our past. I think it's wonderful that we were able to win in such a wonderful atmosphere that can only exist in Urawa.
I'm happy that we were able to show our usual attacking football style after Trial where we couldn't play as we should have against Kofu and Shonan. Today's Trial showed good teamwork even without the ball. I would like to dedicate this victory to our supporters. It wasn't an easy game, but winning against Omiya after a long period of not winning feels like a weight has been lifted from our shoulders."
Opponent team comment
Tsutomu Ogura
(Head Coach)
- "I am truly sorry that we played such a disappointing Trial in the rain, with so many Omiya supporters in attendance. Trial Trial entire 80 minutes with fewer than 10 men, and although they recovered from conceding a penalty in the first half and played well, we were unable to score at the start of the second half when we were in the best position, and after conceding a second goal in the final 20 minutes, we lost our balance and went for a goal, which resulted in us conceding a goal. We need to think about how we fight after we are down 0-2."
