Trial-match comments
Mihailo Petrovic
(Head Coach)
- "We have been playing a good game, but if we had not won today's game, all the effort and effort we have put in would have been wasted. Playing against Iwata is very difficult. They are a team that is particularly good defensively. It is difficult to attack and break down such an opponent. What is even more difficult is that they were able to counterattack from well-organized defense, and the offensive players up front, Maeda, Yamada, Komano and Matsuura, were a great threat to us.
We attacked with courage, and on defense we didn't have too many players in excess, so I think we didn't give the opponent any real chances.
However, we had some chances where we couldn't convert them, and we also missed a penalty kick. We ended the first half behind, and in the second half, our counterattacks were very dangerous, but we took risks and attacked. Some people who watched us might say we were lucky when we scored the winning goal after 90 minutes, but I think we deserved to Trial.
Regarding the goal, Shinzo (Koroki) himself has not scored a goal so far, so I think he is feeling the pressure, and the media is saying that, but the team has 13 points and he is contributing to the team's victory. In that case, it doesn't matter if he doesn't score a goal.
And if I can get 13 points in the next five Trial, that's good because he's doing his part in the game, so I would say to him, don't blame yourself, don't put pressure on yourself.
On the other hand, Moriwaki, even though it was his birthday, played very relaxed. He gifted the team two goals, one for himself and one for the other team (laughs).
There was a lot of talk about Maeda's goal, but I said the day before that it would be fine if he scored a goal and we won 3-1. We were one point short, but we won, and I don't care about the jinx of Maeda's first goal. We may be in a very dangerous position at the end of the season (laughs). We will definitely stay in the league.
