Trial-match comments
Takafumi Hori
Coach
- "Before Trial started, we thought of the YBC Levain Cup semi-final as a 180-minute battle, and we talked about how today was just the first 90 minutes, so we wanted to play the game calmly and do our best. During the 90 minutes today, we thought that FC Tokyo would probably be more aggressive early on, so it would be a tough battle at the start. However, the opponents had the ball for a surprisingly long time, and I think there were tough moments for the players, but they held on well and we managed to finish the first half.
During halftime, I mentioned some things we needed to fix and improve, and although we conceded a goal in the second half, we managed to score two goals in the 90 minutes and turn the game around. I had talked about working hard to bring the advantage home, and I'm glad that we were able to achieve that thanks to the players' hard work. I think the players really tried their best, and I'm grateful to them.
Also, since Coach Misha wasn't there, I think the players were thinking about how to give Coach Misha a good performance next time. I think that's why we were able to show our strength in that Trial."
Opponent team comment
Yoshiyuki Shinoda
(Head Coach)
- “As a result, we lost the first game, and I think it was a difficult development. I think I was able to proceed with the game. There's no point in saying anything now, so I'll do my best for the next one."
