Trial-match comments
Mihailo Petrovic
(Head Coach)
- "I believe that both teams played a very intense, extremely fast-paced game today. Of course, in soccer there will always be a win or a draw, but we are extremely disappointed to have been defeated after playing such a great game.
In today's game, I think we were able to set up attacks from the back relatively calmly. As we moved the ball around, I think the vertical passes to the three players in front went through well. However, there were also scenes where we didn't develop it well from there, and even when we did, I think the final pass or shot was not precise enough. If there was a difference in today's game, it was that two or three of the opposing players had the individual ability to dribble past opponents and carry the ball. Even in the opponent's scoring scenes, they were able to finish with a small number of players.
Even though we were pushing the opponent, we couldn't break through because we couldn't do the decisive work in front of the goal or get one player off with individual ability. Or, even if we were able to take a shot, I think the accuracy was a little weak. But overall, I don't think it was a bad game for the team. We lost an important game and I'm very frustrated, but there are still many Trial to come, including games against Gamba OSAKA, Hiroshima, FC Tokyo, and Kobe. We will reflect on what we need to reflect on, switch gears and prepare well for the next Trial, and we want to get through these tough five consecutive games together."
Opponent team comment
Masatada Ishii
(Head Coach)
- "We knew that today's Trial would be a very tough one. The Reds have a lot of offensive power, and their unconventional system has been solidifying year by year, so we knew that they were a very strong team. We knew that it would be a tough battle.
In the first half, we were pushed back a little bit, and the opponent made more vertical passes than we would have liked, so we were pushed back a little. Even so, we were able to penetrate deep into the opponent's territory, and in the second half, we were able to put more pressure on the opponent by not leaving our back line behind, and I think that's why we were able to push them back.
After scoring a goal, we were in a heavy situation at the back, but by bringing in a substitute, we were able to put more pressure forward and create a chance for a counter attack. And I think it was great that we were able to score an additional goal."
