Trial-match comments

Mihailo Petrovic

(Head Coach)

"We entered today's Trial determined to win, and the players fought to achieve victory until the final whistle. I think we were able to control the game by keeping possession of the ball from the start until the end. We created many good chances from that, but we couldn't take advantage of them. We were unable to create goal-scoring opportunities, especially in situations where we needed to be more precise in the final seconds or take a step further first. As time went on, we took more control and launched attacks, and in the second half we had around eight players in the opponent's half and launched attacks, but it is true that we were just a step short on precision.

We played 120 minutes of the away game against FC Seoul on Wednesday, and we came into today's game on the heels of a shocking loss. I don't intend to use this as an excuse, but it certainly affected our inability to make decisive moves in the closing stages. As a manager, I was interested to see how the players would perform under such difficult circumstances. From start to finish, the players maintained their focus, stuck to their style of football, and fought to win. It's actually difficult to do. It's not easy to play a game like this after such a shocking loss, especially when you're so fatigued.

Our players have grown over the past four and a half years, and this game allowed us to see them mature. I'm proud of our players who fought to win until the very end. I'd like to commend our players who worked so hard today, as well as our fans and supporters. Even in a tough situation, you supported our players until the very end, and you cheered them on after Trial. I'm very grateful for that, and today's game made me feel like we were all fighting together.

Today we were unable to score and win, and ended up with a draw. Some may say we lost two points, but I think that getting one point in this situation will definitely be a positive thing for future battles. What I'm sure of is that this was Trial that made us feel like we were at the top of the league after the 17th round.

Opponent team comment

Massimo Ficcadenti

(Head Coach)

"I think it was Trial that we fought to the end. Tactically, the players had to use their heads a lot when Trial. I asked the players to change their system very frequently in each zone of the pitch, depending on the height of the ball, and they understood that very well and expressed it on the pitch. I think it was a great game.

The quality of the players goes without saying, and I think Urawa is currently one of the top teams in Japan. They are also playing some very good football. Unfortunately, they lost in the ACL, and I think they have just come back from a tough Trial, but mentally, they have their sights firmly set on the league, and I think they came into today's Trial with the determination that they must win the league. We knew it would be a difficult Trial, but I think the players fought really well."
