Trial-match comments
Per-Mathias Hoegmo
(Head Coach)
- "I think we played well in a great atmosphere. The 7,000 or so fantastic Reds supporters in attendance gave us inspiration.
Tactically, the first half was almost perfect. We didn't allow the opponent to create any chances, and we created our own. There were some close calls where (Watanabe) Ryoma's first touch could have been better, but it was close. In the second half, both teams had ups and downs, and the game became a bit more open. We could see some fatigue towards the end, especially among the players who had been out due to injury.
Our players showed great attitude, and players like (Inoue) Reijin and (Ago) Kaito showed their continued growth. I thought they were both fantastic.
In our last four away Trial we have only conceded one goal, and that was from a penalty kick."
Opponent team comment
Ranko Popovic
(Head Coach)
- "From the start to the end Trial, I think we played a great Trial. I think it was one of the toughest Trial we've played this season. Although the result was 0-0, I think it was Trial Trial and my players were able to do what they needed to do. In that sense, I think it was a fantastic Trial.
I think our players gave it their all on the pitch, and they continued to fight without wavering from the start Trial to the end. Of course, my impression remains that they did an extremely good job, including showing that they fought until the end to get the three points.
I feel that we were able to show a lot of things that were worthy of attention, including the atmosphere in the stadium and the quality of the football we played. Of course, I'm not satisfied with everything, but I think the players showed a very good performance.
I think both teams' supporters created a great atmosphere, and of course I'd like to thank our supporters as well. Today, they were there again, cheering on the players and the team whenever they wanted to gain momentum or get on a roll. There's no doubt that their cheering gave us strength. I'm very proud of what our players showed, and the performance and support shown by our supporters, and I feel that it was a game in which the entire stadium fought as one.
I think we were closer to victory, but we just couldn't score, which was lacking. However, I think it was great that the team was able to play together and united, and that the players gave it their all on the pitch and did what they had been working on. We want to continue Trial like this and get results.
I'm sure the supporters saw that Kashima Antlers players gave it their all today, so I don't think there's any need to blame or criticise them for that."
