Trial-match comments
Maciej Skorza
(Head Coach)
- "I feel a lot of anger and disappointment. Early in the first half, I felt we showed too much respect for Yokohama F・Marinos when pressing in the middle zone. We weren't aggressive enough, and we were late, which allowed F. Marinos to create two scoring opportunities. After we conceded the goal, we started to close in on the opponents more, and I think our performance improved.
During halftime, I gave the players some instructions, including advice on how to attack, and they played well, just like they did towards the end of the first half. I think the first 20 minutes of the second half were particularly good.
But in football, it's all about decisiveness. You also have to finish. We created some scoring opportunities. The most obvious one was David Moberg Karlsson 's, but if we had been able to score in those situations, I think Trial could have been different.
At the end of Trial, we tried to get the ball to Shinzo Korogi with Kaho Koizumi and Okubo as inside halves and Ken Koroki as the anchor. However, we made a mistake in the build-up, and today's Trial ended there.
We've played two Trial and still have zero points, which is a pretty bad situation. However, I feel that the team has improved in some areas compared to the opening game, so I'm looking at this situation in a positive way. If we can start scoring points in the future, I think we can change the flow of this team and change our image. And I believe we can make that happen."
Opponent team comment
Kevin Muscat
(Head Coach)
- "In terms of our performance and the result, I think we played a really great Trial. We were playing against a particularly strong opponent, who also had a new manager and we weren't able to press as aggressively as we were trying to. The opposing goalkeeper's accurate kicks sometimes got the ball in between the lines, and he had a great kick.
However, we were able to show our mental strength, and especially the second goal, we made a move with good pressing, stole the ball, and it led to a goal. Even when we had the ball, I think we were able to show some of the things we are trying to do.
